I wanted to share an unfortunate incident I experienced at Egg&Co recently. As a delivery driver, I value professionalism and respect just as much as anyone else. Unfortunately, my encounter with one of the employees left me feeling disheartened and disrespected. On the day of the incident, I had an order to pick up from Egg&Co. I arrived after a five-minute drive, expecting a smooth pickup and delivery. However, upon entering the restaurant, I was met with confusion as there was no designated area or clear instructions for delivery drivers. I approached an employee behind the bar to inquire about the pickup, and to my surprise, the response was far from courteous. Instead of providing assistance, I was told to "stay over there" in a dismissive and unfriendly manner. While I understand busy times can be stressful, it's important to treat every individual with respect and dignity. I believe that every establishment, especially one partnered with delivery services, should consider the convenience and satisfaction of their delivery drivers. It's disheartening to see that a simple request for assistance was met with such an unprofessional attitude. As a result of this unfortunate encounter, I had to cancel the order and waste time, effort, and gas – a frustrating situation for anyone trying to provide efficient service. What's even more disappointing is that this incident eventually led to the deactivation of my UberEats account, impacting my livelihood. I hope that Egg&Co takes this feedback constructively and considers creating a more delivery-friendly environment. Designated pickup areas or clear communication can go a long way in fostering positive relationships with delivery drivers. After all, our goal is to ensure quick and smooth service for both customers and restaurants alike. I share this experience not to criticize the entire establishment, but to shed light on the importance of respectful behavior and the impact it can have on everyone involved. I hope my feedback reaches the right ears and encourages positive change. Thank you for taking the time to read about...
Read moreI don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but given the fact that this is the second time receiving brunch so disappointing I couldn’t help myself. The first visit was a few months ago and we ordered the smoked salmon and double back bacon bennies. Both eggs were undercooked. We ordered them medium and they were basically raw and of course cold. Today we hesitantly decided to comeback a few months after our previous visit. I must say that our server was very sweet and tentative, and she gets that golden star review! However, the first sign that we were not going to get quality food to match the service started with the “cappuccino.” The foam was not velvety and it lacked body, the ratio to espresso and foam well let’s just say, we basically received a burnt milk latte, so overal terrible. We ordered a monte cristo and BLT sandwich. Super simple classics, so how could it go wrong? Well it was like we were given food from a highway truck stop diner. If that doesn’t suggest how awful the quality was well then I have no hope for a brunch only spot. Did you get bread from the dollar store? How old were those hash browns? Where are you getting these flavorless eggs? I’ve been looking to source such irresistible, nongmo, organic, free range eggs like those!! Just kidding because the egg on the BLT was so cold, I thought I was mistaking it for the tomato so I took the tomato off and took another bite. Nope, it was like they cooked an egg, put it in the fridge and then served it. If this is the sort of breakfast you’re craving, save your money folks and go to Bons off Broadway, at least your pay for what you get and it’s entertaining!! You might wonder if we said something to our server! No we didn’t, it was not worth letting her know how terrible it was. We also knew that this was not a one off and that nothing could be remedied. It sucks because we love our neighborhood spots and there are some serious quality eats! Until we have another spot for brunch on Fraser I’ll drive downtown, pay for parking and wait in an hour lineup to be happy...
Read moreEgg and co? More like egg and COLD.
Great customer service, but the time it came to paying with cash, not so great. Felt so uncomfortable.
On the positive note, I enjoyed my meal. I ordered the black truffle eggs Benedict, was pretty tasty. Overwhelming amount of mushrooms, the middle of the egg was a bit cold, and the potatoes were also a bit cold. Still was quite fresh in a way, but eh could've been better. Must've been sitting out for a bit before serving. My friends chicken and waffles also could've been better. Tasted the chicken, what just covered in a plain batter. Shouldve added more seasoning into the batter.
Our server was lovely, shared the daily specials clearly and slowly. Not sure if they're the manager, but she is a middle aged with a brunette Bob. Checked in on us, it was pleasant and genuine. BUT, the moment we got to the bill, nuh uh.
I don't have much money on my card, but I came ready with some cash. I had a $10 bill, a toonie and loonie ($3) and $2 in some nickels, dimes and a quarter. I asked to pay with cash first, then the remaining with what I got on my card. Once I asked to do that process, the server was like "okay" with a straight face. I apologized for the amount of coins, but honestly it wasn't that much to count💀. She comes back and sees the organized coins on the table, and groans "oh my gOsHhh." Me and my friend just looked at eachother in shock, uncomfortable. I apologized again lol, I finished paying on the machine. She took it back and mutters "dont come back". Me and my friend left right away, because we were so uncomfortable. I was shocked, absolutely baffled. No "thank you! Have a nice day" none of that. It wasn't that busy, she could have all the time to count the change. It wasn't like I was paying the whole bill with nickels and dimes, it was only $2. I payed with what I had. There was no reason to give such attitude about it. So so so rude. Absolutely just. Terrible way to end...
