Let me start off by saying firstly, this is not authentic Italian food. We ordered the Salccica pizza, while it was indeed cooked in a wood fire oven, the crust looked a little anemic due to the lack of salt in the dough. The olives tasted like they came from a can, the cheese on the pizza had absolutely no colour, and the sausage felt like it was practically cut up hot dogs.
The scallopini al limone also looked quite anemic, normally when dredging veal in flour and pan frying it, there should be some colour on the edges and surfaces that were in contact with the pan and oil, the cook must have thrown it in the pan and was constantly flipping it, the oil saturated the flour which left it was an almost slimy texture, not to mention I have had La Croix with more intense lemon flavour. The pasta that came with it would leave a nonna rolling in her grave, it was practically crunchy; calling it al dente would be a complete stretch. The sauce.... tasted like it came from a can, I could feel the heartburn the second I took my first bite.
Cannot recommend, will not go back, the lack of flavour and cooking techniques do not merit the price that they charge...
Read moreMy wife and I went here last night. We ordered a mushroom pizza and a fettuccine Gigi and a linguine frutti do mare. We have been coming here for several years but in the last year the quality of the food has been inconsistent. The food is still good just not as high quality and as consistent as it was in the past. The mushroom pizza was excellent. However the gigi sauce was too watery and it wasn't quite as creamy and flavorful as in my previous visits. My wife's linguini was supposed to be a rosé sauce but they brought it out as a white sauce and when we told them we ordered the rosé, the waitress immediately recalled and took it back to correct the mistake. Unfortunately when it returned we could tell that they just added tomato sauce and stirred it in. It became to much sauce for the amount of pasta and we could see it was just mixed in because the open mussel shells had white sauce inside. It was disappointing that they did this. I am aware that a rosé sauce is made with cream sauce and tomato sauce but it didn't taste as it should. We finished our meal. The food was still good but just not to the standards I had grown accustomed to over the...
Read moreFirst and last time going there. Horrible food and atmosphere. It looks like decor from the 70s or 80s, lacks so much character. The food was terrible, they claim that their dishes are made fresh on the premises, instead everything looked and tasted like it came from a cheap grocery store. Worst calamari we have ever tasted, bought from a grocery store and deep fried. Looked more like huge onion rings, so disgusting. The cannelloni and sauce were also terrible, clearly bought at a grocery store. The pizza was a joke, so small and thin, undercooked with no taste and hardly any toppings. Will never return here again. What a complete waste of money. The interior is so tacky and cheap looking. Looks like you stepped back in time. Old, disgusting carpet on the floor, old tables and chairs with vinyl tablecloths. No ambience whatsoever. Really sad experience. Overpriced and so not worth it. Other reviewers that stated food was good clearly have no idea what authentic Italian food should look and taste like. If you’re of Italian origin do yourselves a favour and skip this place. You will be...
