Dejavu Mediterranean cuisine — Restaurant in Vaughan

Food- The Food was a honest 2/10 rice was mushy. Chicken didn’t taste like chicken. It was all put together in a bowl with 20 different sauces. I was not impressed at all, but I mean, what do you get for $10

Service- service was absolutely horrible. It seemed like the couple got their soul sucked out of them and they’re being forced to run a restaurant. I asked them what they’re known for and what is best so I could try it and the lady said what type of meat do you like? Strange.

Atmosphere- there is none. The restaurant is absolutely dead. It looks like you’re walking into some stingy, gross dungeon looking Chinese takeout restaurant in Hart of Chinatown on top of that the lady had stains all over her shirt. She didn’t look that happy to be there. The husband didn’t look happy to be there and the food really resembled that as well I should’ve known from the beginning, just but atmosphere of walking in that I wasn’t gonna be good and trust me if you go there and you see what their place looks like you’ll totally...

The lady insisted we get bowls because they were on special. But it was just with fries. We wanted a plate but we were pushed to buy this bowl for $17.75+tax.

It was too dry, no rice option, no salad. They didn't want to make that plate or God knows. The lady wanted us to do take out but i had to ask if we can sit. Had to ask twice to use the washroom because she told us the "owner" closed it.

And apparently this "special" is not in their system so they can't give a receipt. Never coming back again

She then lied and changed her story. I asked for the plate but she insisted on the bowl because I asked her for rice and salad etc. I asked the lady if we can eat here and she said yes. It's funny your employee turned everything around on us. We don't like to waste food and definitely did not "leave the door"

Train your employees and yourself for better...

Oh. My. Goodness. I've always loved Mediterranean food, but Dejavu is LEGIT. I was already expecting the food to be good based on the reviews, but my expectations were blown away even further. The chicken was grilled to perfection, so juicy, and full of flavour. The salad was so fresh and tasty. The rice so light and flavourful. And the potatoes were amazing too and cooked just right. The portions are very generous and fair as well.

The lady working there was so friendly and recommended what to order based on what I was craving. I got the chicken skewers with salad and half rice half potatoes.

The place is definitely a hidden gem, and now it's my favourite Mediterranean and grill restaurant in all of the GTA. I wish the plaza did a better job at promoting their shops because it's so hidden, she deserves...
