I recently had the pleasure of visiting a charming Italian bakery Vici Bakery that left a lasting impression. This place is a haven for those with a sweet tooth and a love for simple Italian pleasures. As soon as you walk in, the aroma of fresh bread, good coffee, and amazing fresh pies fills the air, creating a tantalizing experience for the senses.
The bakery boasts an impressive range of offerings, from mouthwatering pre-made frozen pizzas to scrumptious fresh-made pies. But what truly stole the show for me was the fresh-baked bread. The Italian bread, with its shell-like crispy outside and warm, loving, peely soft inside, was nothing short of a masterpiece.
However, there's a catch. The bakery's popularity can be both a blessing and a curse. During my visit, the place was overpacked, shoulder to shoulder, reminiscent of an early '90s New York stock trading floor. It felt like a living cliché, with people yelling and seemingly climbing over each other. The reason for this chaos remains unknown, as they had a good number of employees behind the counter. The service, unfortunately, was considerably slower than it should have been, which can be frustrating when you're eager to savor the delicious offerings.
Despite these service hiccups and the bustling atmosphere, I can't help but recommend this bakery to anyone who appreciates exceptional food. The quality of their offerings, especially the unforgettable bread, is worth any inconveniences you may encounter. It's a place where the food is the star, and as long as you're prepared for the lively atmosphere, you're in for a culinary treat that's...
Read moreI am usually a fan of this bakery, despite fluctuating prices when I order the same sandwhich from different people. However today, I went in and asked the employee for an amount of proccutino. She repeated the product I asked for, and started by stating they didnt have any of that open. She then said she would open a new one, without me asking. She proceeded to cut up the amount I asked for. Upon checkout with the owner, the owner noticed I had been given a blank price tag, and went to repremend the employee on "making the same mistake again." She saw the meat that was cut, put a tag, came over and told me capricolo was the same price as what she charged me for. I told her I asked for proccutino. She told me I was given capricolo. She asked the employee what I asked for, the employee said capricolo. My problem is, the owner printed the tag after looking at the meat not after asking what was ordered, so the employee, already making one mistake with the order, repeated what she saw her employer print out. The owner then tried to give me the capricolo. I told her I didn't order it and didnt want it. She said take it or leave it, it was MY mistake. Even tho the employee repeated proccutino to me, i didnt want to get in a fight about it. The situation was already escalating unnecessarily. She refused to cut up the product I ordered. Over a 10 dollar order of deli meat, I'm considering not returning to a bakery I've been to for years, because an owner I've seen hundreds of times tried to make me pay for an...
Read moreThey have one pastry that was truly excellent! It was recommended to me by one of the employees. It was long, thin, pointy, a bit triangular, with yellow filling. See my pics. I would definitely have that again!
Not prefer: I was disappointed by all of the other pastries I bought. They did look impressive though. I didn't enjoy the cherry flavoured pastry that had an unusual bite to it. However, it is one of their top sellers. The thickened cream product in one of the pastries tasted like Zehrs' bakery cream product (it didn't taste like fresh whipping cream), so I was disappointed by that.
Prices: The prices were incredibly reasonable, which made me worried about the quality after I purchased them. I spent around $18 for 5 pastries (some of which were fairly large).
Food: Coffees of varying types (see my pic for the list), gelato, hot lunch food, loaves of fresh bread, chips, frozen or refrigerated meals, possibly pies, etc.
Dining Options: Indoor, outdoor, and...
