Golden Chopsticks — Restaurant in Vaughan

I do not know how this place gets a 3.9 I'm a Brown guy, walked in with my partner we're medics, he's also brown. We call ahead, ppl seemed nice so we check it out for lunch. We order and pay first. White dude in front of us gets his meal first, even tho we saw and heard him order fresh a brand new order. Idk what that was about but it obviously rubbed us the wrong way, cause he didn't order ahead, cause he sat in. Lets put that aside, I ordered Teriyaki chicken with fried rice. During the lunch specials it comes with pop which we didn't get. we then went back in our ambulance and opened the boxes later on to discover this was some blend of sweet n sour sauce, and deep fried chicken. with fried rice.

1. we were not pleased with the sweet n sour sauce, and we ordered teriyaki so they messed up the order.
2. the service was decent for our expectations, don't expect to be blown away.
3. the pieces of chicken are LAYERED in batter, deep fried and served. SO they try to goat u into "oh look half the box you get is chicken, but its like drenched in batter. i'll let #3 pass cause we're not trying to go to a chinese restaurant to be healthy. But to call this authentic chinese food, give me a break, this is worse than the fast food joints around town, and much worse than food court. like teriyaki japan, or macho wok is WAYYYYYY BETTER imagine that
4. the PRICE, WHO IN THEIR right mind would pay (obvs we did, cause we were hungry) but each lunch special cost $14 w Tax. $14, is the Biggest rip off you will ever find, because down the road on steelers avenue, you will find millions "AND THE ROCK MEANS MILLIONS" of chines restaurants that will charge $8-$9 regular, and $6 for a lunch special, in which there is 2x the amt of food, veggies, and meat. like I just felt like I ate rice and batter.

If you got nothing to do, and your hungry, Don't go here, EVER! they gotta be ashamed of themselves. "Authentic chinese...

If i can rate this restaurant less than 1 star i would. I am from Montreal here for new years and me and my friends were looking for a kosher restaurant in the area. We found golden chopsticks and thought it looked good. we had called in advance to ask what time they close and they said 9 and that we can still order. We got to the restaurant to take out the food at around 8:30. The second we walked in we heard the workers say in Hebrew "oh i wish they didn't come because we wanted to close early"... then we had this young server take our order and he was rushing us uncontrollably and wouldn't explain anything on the menu (which is his job.) as we were asking him questions he was sigh the whole time as if we were annoying him. We gave our order within 2 min because of the rush, then he was rushing us to pay. Because everything was done so fast i wanted at the end to make sure that we got everything since we made 2 orders. I was taking the stuff out of the bag. and i think the "Owner" grabbed the bag and took out everything and starting counting the items as if we were offending him by making sure everything was there and gave us such a smirk. Then i asked for some sauces to put in the bag, i asked him which ones he had and he didn't ever answer us he put all the sauces just to shut us up. I AM NEVER GOING BACK!! AND I AM TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW ABOUT THIS HORRIBLE SERVICE AND HOW RUDE ALL THE EMPLOYEES WERE. RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. FOOD IS NOT EVEN THAT GOOD. IM DISGUSTED. SO IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE,...

Very poor customer service. Ordered a lunch combo and specifically mentioned that order would be picked-up by someone else and that I required cutlery, napkins, etc., and requested a Diet Coke. Order was delivered with main dish, but no Spring Roll, (was supposed to be included in order), no cutlery, no napkins, no Diet Coke.

When I called to report the missing Spring Roll, I was told to call back so that the counter worker could call the owner to discuss the missing Spring Roll with her, as opposed to simply issuing me an immediate apology and being invited to swing by restaurant, at my earliest convenience, to pick one up. Instead, I was offered an extra Spring Roll with a future order, except that I already paid for my missing Spring Roll with my most recent order, and don't think that receiving something that I already paid for, but never received, should be tied to a future order.

The worker explained that she wasn't authorized to give me the Spring Roll that I didn't receive and asked that I call back at a later time to discuss the matter with the owner. Not worth my time or effort, but based on principle alone, will never return to Golden Chopsticks, so there won't be any extra Spring Roll with a future order, nor would I recommend restaurant to others. Caveat Emptor. Terrible...
