The food was nice. The service? I am sorry, but this is the most hypocritical and the worst service I have seen. Let me state this first, they literally tried to kick us out by opening the door intentionally at a cold evening.
Here is the scenario, we arrived there at 9 pm, they let us sit down. The server gave us the bill the moment we had our last dish served. We didn't even eat much yet. Then he kept telling us that they were supposed to close at 9:30. Why didn't you tell us at the beginning? If you are telling me that, I will simply just change the place to eat.
We tried our best to finish the meal, but we didn't get everything served till around 9:45. What am I supposed to do?
Then they served the last dish, and what they did after is just beyond my imagination, they OPENED the door intentionally, it was raining and it was cold, we have to bear the cold and finish our food in a much faster manner.
I felt sorry that I kept you here late in the beginning. Even when you gave me the bill, I still gave you 18% tips while your service is so bad.
However, wasn't it your responsibility to remind us when the last call is, and when do you guys close? You tried to earn the money from me while trying to kick us out?
I have never seen any restaurant using such a despicable way to kick their customers in the city. Are you charging the premium for your food to show me some "premium" nonsense like this? I'll never come back again, also I'll make sure to tell the story to as many people as I can.
I'll attach the picture as evidence when I got served, with the time stamp as well.
Please be advised, if anybody sees this, don't come, at least at the evening, unless you are dying for paying premium to see some nonsense you have never...
Read moreOne of my best friends and her boyfriend took me and my fiancé to this place, as I’ve always wanted to try raw marinated crab. I finally got to have some authentic versions of the dish from this homey Korean restaurant and I absolutely loved everything!
The restaurant is quite popular with large families as everyone would get a booth and share main dishes with Banchan (반찬, known as Korean side dishes). It has a homey feel to the place, with simple but cozy wooden seating options.
The menu had lots of different dishes to choose from (for main and sides) and had a section at the back on how to speak and ask questions in Korean! Our server was very friendly and gave some great recommendations.
We got their Seafood Pancake, the Soy Raw Marinaded Crab and Gochujang Marinaded Crab, the Spicy Tteok-bokki, the cooked Beef Tendon and Spicy Fried Chicken. It was an absolutely DELICIOUS feast! Both types of raw marinaded crab were fresh and divine.
The Soy one was naturally more salty and the Gochujang one was more spicy, but I thoroughly enjoyed both! The Beef Tendon was super tender and the fried chicken offered a spicy, crunchy reprieve. The Seafood Pancake also came out piping hot and full of delicious goodies such as octopus bits, scallions, shrimp, and much more. The Tteok-bokki was absolutely lovely! The rice cakes were chewy and it was spicy, slurpy and satisfying.
The Banchan were also all delicious and some were refreshing palate cleansers. I highly recommend this place for scrumptious, authentic Korean dishes and it is one of the few places you can find delicious, raw...
Read moreThis restaurant is a hidden gem and probably one of the best Korean restaurants in the city. Everyone is very friendly, especially the owners; I felt like they really value their customers, and I really appreciated their kindness. Now, on to the food: It is amazing! I had a grilled fish and one of the beef red soups, and both were delicious. My girlfriend, who is Korean, had a different dish and praised the authentic taste. So, food here is 5/5; authentic, delicious, and plentiful. Service is top notch as well! The waitresses and waiters were friendly and professional. Food was served quickly, and although their English is lacking, I don't feel like a language barrier is a big deterrence in the presence of good staff. I also wanted to add that the atmosphere is really nice! We got soft seating in the benches, which were very comfortable, and the tables are huge with lots of space for everything. Prices are very reasonable, bordering on outright cheap for the amount of food you get. Lastly, I wanted to comment on the quality of side dishes; specifically, the kimchi. For some reason, 90% of korean places in Toronto don't get the kimchi right! They either don't allow it to ferment enough or use cheap pepper powder which introduces a metallic taste that is very unappealing. Well, this place has amazing Kimchi! It's definitely in my top 2 for Kimchi (the other one is Soora, in Guelph). All in all, I really enjoyed my meal here and would definitely recommend it. I look forward to coming...
