I recently celebrated my birthday dinner at Romano's in Vaughan, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations. From the delectable food to the beautiful decor, every aspect of the evening was nothing short of exceptional. The culinary journey at Romano's is a treat for the senses. The menu boasts a delightful selection of dishes, each expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. The attention to detail in every bite showcases the chef's dedication to creating a memorable dining experience. The variety and quality of the cuisine truly set Romano's apart. The ambiance of the restaurant is another highlight. The interior is tastefully decorated, creating an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere. Whether you're there for a casual dinner or a special celebration, the ambiance adds a touch of elegance to the overall dining experience. I must commend the impeccable service we received throughout the evening. The staff at Romano's is not only professional but also incredibly attentive. Our server went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met, making the celebration even more enjoyable. During my visit, I noticed there was a Christmas party underway, and it was evident that Romano's is an excellent venue for events. The seamless coordination of the party and the festive atmosphere added to the charm of the evening. It's clear that Romano's is not just a restaurant but a versatile space suitable for various occasions. One aspect that caught my attention was the presence of chosen menus for events. This thoughtful detail ensures that every guest receives a curated dining experience, tailored to the nature of the event. It's a testament to Romano's commitment to providing a personalized touch to each gathering. As someone who had never been to Romano's before, I left thoroughly impressed. The combination of delectable food, inviting decor, impeccable service, and versatility as an event venue makes Romano's a standout choice in Vaughan. If you're looking for a restaurant that excels in every aspect, Romano's in Vaughan is the place to be. I highly recommend it for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I really don’t like writing negative reviews… I went here last night for my birthday as I really wanted Italian food, the prices seemed decent and the menu looked enticing. I shared the grilled calamari with my mom as an app and it was okay. I ordered the truffle mushroom fettuccine Alfredo as a main and was SO disappointed. It honestly tasted like one of those Michelenas microwaved meals that I used to eat in uni. Not worth $30. And the service was insulting. I came with my parents, they wanted to take me out for a nice dinner for my birthday, there were only three of us and we felt like we didn’t exist. Our server never asked us how anything tasted, I could clearly see that she was much more concerned with her other tables (bigger parties, ordering lots of drinks - it’s almost as if she was strategic and planned to give us poorer service because she wanted to focus on where she could get the most tips - pretty gross). When we would finally get our servers attention, we would have more than one question/request bc we had been waiting so long, and she would literally turn her back and walk away before we were able to finish. Don’t worry, we tipped her accordingly (10%, and we almost never tip less than 20% - I used to work as a server and I know they rely on tips) I should have said something to the manager about the service and sent my food back, but at the time I didn’t want to cause any trouble. It did have a fun atmosphere but didn’t make up for the low quality of food. I really regret choosing this restaurant!

Saturday, May 31st was a very special commemorative event for my husband .. retirement from 25 years of construction. I wanted to be sure to give him a memorable farewell along with 12 of his close colleagues and Romano's was the perfect choice. Lori assisted with planning the event to every detail so that on the day it went off with absolute ease and piece of mind...all we had to do was sit back, relax and enjoy!! The food was impeccable... as I have dined here on a few occasions I knew that it would satisfy the tastes of all my guests. From the starters - shrimp and calamari and the pizzas, to the scrumptious penned ala vodka ... to the main entree of steak with potatoes and veggies...each morsel was melt in your mouth delicious. Ambience was perfect for a Saturday night... light music, and a secluded area to the side for intimate conversation. All of my guests commented afterwards that they had a fantastic time. Thank you to all of the staff for an evening my husband and I will treasure and remember for many years to come. If you are a lover of Italian cuisine this is one of the top restaurants in woodbridge for food variety and generous portions, ambience, as well as top notch customer service. On behalf of myself and all my guests thank you! Much gratitude Melanie

I made the mistake of picking this Italian restaurant for my nonna’s 62nd birthday, as her beloved authentic Trattoria Leonardo regrettably closed… and I really didn’t feel like cooking.

I’m hard-pressed to understand the overall 4.4 stars rating. Stranieri?

In all fairness, I should have read the reviews… all of them. All the lowest ones are absolutely correct… a bit harsh on service… though they did seem completely disorganized and unprepared for guests with reservations, even with so much staff hanging about. I was fooled by the promising online menu and the price point indicating elevated dining.

Overall: TERRIBLY UNDERWHELMING

… let alone ridiculously overpriced for the « quality » let alone quantity.

Table service was minimal (table itself wasn’t fully prepped nor corrected). Took almost 15 minutes to get menus after we were seated (13 mins to be offered the pretentious QR version - another 2-3 to find battered printed ones)… longer for offers of drinks. Our friendly assigned waitress was occupied with a party of 10… but any of the milling-about staff should have stepped up, if only with menus and water. It was 5:30 and we were the second seated party alongside said party of 10. The musical ambiance is fine if you appreciate elevator-worthy cover versions of 90s power balades (which I actually do ;).

The actual sampled food:

The calamari is basically lightly floured - no additional spices or herbs - and served with shrimp cocktail sauce?! In an alleged Italian restaurant?

We were offered a small plate of 4 simple but good bread pieces with butter in plastic pods (?!).

The Caesar salad is an accurate copy of that bought in a bag with Renée’s dressing.

The $3 portion of gnocchi for $23 is NOT fresh. Commercial. Not fluffy but chewy. IF (and that’s a big if) it was house-made, it was long ago made and frozen… and served with too much tomato sauce. Worse than the kind I made the first time with my nonna at 7.

The swordfish « catch of the day » was $38 for a fair ~6oz piece of fish with literally 4 pieces of broccoli, 4 pieces of red pepper, 3 sliced rounds of carrot (all steamed and lightly buttered with garlic), and a small splatter of thinned out mash potato. Granted the fish was lovely; cooked perfectly and delicately flavoured. The rest was forgettable.

I assure you, in my line of work and leisure, I have no issue paying high prices for good authentic food. Money wasn’t an issue. The prices were only a slap in the face.

Authentic Italian food is meant to be simple and fresh… and loaded with flavour and love.

The starters were a captivating introduction to the afternoon lunch, offering a tantalizing preview of the exceptional dining experience that awaits. The antipasto platter was a culinary delight. The palate, a medley of flavors, from savory cured meats to marinated olives, creating a symphony of taste that sets the stage for an extraordinary dining adventure

The restaurant’s mastery extends beyond traditional Italian fare to encompass exquisitely cooked steaks that redefine culinary artistry. The steak, a centerpiece of their menu, arrives cooked to perfection—juicy, succulent, and bursting with flavor. Each mouthwatering bite reveals the culinary expertise behind the grill, leaving a lingering impression that will have you planning your return before the meal is even complete.

Romano's Restaurant doesn't merely offer a meal; it provides an experience. The ambiance, with its warm hues and rustic charm, creates an inviting atmosphere that encourages guests to linger and savor each moment. Soft, ambient lighting accents the atmosphere as natural sunlight bathes the tables, creating an intimate setting perfect for a romantic evening or a cozy gathering of friends and family. The comfortable seating and tasteful decor contribute to an overall sense of relaxation, making Romano's Restaurant an ideal retreat from the bustling city outside.

I wouldn’t be doing this review justice if I didn’t mention the exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. From the moment you step through the door, you are greeted with genuine smiles and a warm welcome that extends throughout the entire dining experience. The waitstaff, well-versed in the menu and attentive to every detail, effortlessly guide you through your culinary journey. Their passion for providing an exceptional dining experience is palpable, turning a night out into a memorable occasion.

In conclusion, Romano's stands as a beacon of Italian culinary excellence, offering not just a meal but a voyage through flavors, textures, and genuine hospitality. Whether you're a discerning food enthusiast or a casual diner, I recommend anyone who likes food to try...
