We came here excited to try a new place with some friends. The resturant is below a condo building and the closest parking is the The Bauer Kitchen/Vincenzoes parking lot. The menu is small and curated. The resturant itself is beautifully decorated and the service was good. You should expect higher priced menu items here. The waitress asked us what we wanted to drink and I gave my order and she left before my partner could give his in which he waited a while for her to come back. When she did come back with my drink and was helping my partner decide on his she asked him what cocktail he normally orders and he said a Caesar and the waitress said that Lalas had a signature Caesar, but it wasn’t even on the drinks menu… I am a baked brie fanatic and I would not reccomend ordering it from here. They paired the brie with a peach/thyme compote, bread, and lettuce… which was very odd. As for our mains, we ordered their curried rice noodles and they were amazing ! I will also mention that the restaurant manager had a weird aura and checked in on our table twice, standing a little too long at the table waiting for our approval of the meals. We saw him following the waitresses around empty handed while they were serving customers their meals. It was odd as well. We will be coming back to check out their 4-7pm happy hour appetizers and drinks.
EDIT: Came here for their Happy Hour from 4-7 where everything is $7 !!! Great food (Grilled cheese, oysters, and tuna tacos which were some of the best food we've had in a while), great service from Ferdinand, and great drinks (definitely recommend the spritz).
EDIT: They changed their Happy Hour, everything is no longer $7 and their menu is completely different (no more oysters, grilled cheese, or tuna tacos). The hours are now 4-6pm as well. This is super unfortunate as we’ve been recommending Lala’s to everyone. It was shared that the owners realized they were losing money on Happy Hour but last time we were here it was packed ! We will not be returning or recommending this so-called...
Read moreFirst time dining at LaLa Social House, and most likely the last. I’ll start with the good aspects of the restaurant. It’s a very cool vibe and the decor is done very well. The service from all the staff was also very good and our main server was very attentive.
Now to start, I made a reservation for the dining room, but they sat us in the lounge. We were confused when we sat down because the lounge was completely empty and there’s 4 different sized tables all set out, but we just went with it because we were a bit confused (it was our first time there). We watched all the patrons funnel past us into the next room during our dinner, and it felt a bit off since we were sat by ourselves in the lounge. Before we left, we went into the other room to check it out, and it confirmed that we indeed were not sat where we requested.
Now to the cocktails. An establishment like this, I would expect the cocktails to be amazing, especially because they have the cool mini bar downstairs. None of the cocktails on their online menu were the same as the ones shown to us in person, which was disappointing. The in-person menu, all of them were $22, and the majority of them did not even have hard liquor in them, they would be some sort of low proof liqueur, and then prosecco. For $22, I’d say that’s a rip off. We ended up asking our server if the bartender could make us bourbon sours, and they were made very well, I will say that. So kudos to the bartender.
The food was a mix of good and not so good. The beef tartare was decent, the baked brie appetizer and truffles fries we enjoyed. However the calamari was extremely chewy and tough. The tenderloin was $50, and it came with no starch and was the smallest two slivers of tenderloin I’ve ever seen.
This restaurant and bar has potential to be great, but changes are certainly required to get...
Read moreStarted off well, we were greeted warmly and was directed to our table as soon as we entered Lala social house. It was my friends and i’s first time, and if i had known our experience would have been like this, i should’ve never brought them here. So disappointing..
They seemed to have most of their food options not available which was off cause they would take the order, and then tell us after quite sometime that they weren’t available. We were okay to wait and have some wine and chat, but we all know when the wait is ‘tooo muchh’ we were so patient too, trying to consider that they may just be busy.. but they weren’t.
a drink was served to my friend differently cause they didn’t have the actual drink that was ordered, and yet he wasn’t given the option to choose a different drink.
food took foreverrrrr and was served cold! i cant believe this social house was firsthand curated for “members only” that required fees when the service is so bad! The restaurant wasn’t even full, so we were confused why.
they didn’t know their deals of the day, and i had to confirm and the servers had to confirm themselves during the moment too. When we were about to pay for the bill, wrong $ amounts were handed out, which cost wayyy more than the expected. We had to wait moreee just to get the bill corrected. At this point we were so ready to leave cause we didn’t have to be in a restaurant for 3 hours to wait and wait!
This place has so much potential the ambiance and interior was nice, but that was just it. The service needs a lot...
