The Works is a fun change from your usual burger joint. The whole restaurant is done up in an industrial feeling, so right off the bat it looks different. It is espically nice in summer, when they can open the big garage door windows.
Service wise, I have never had a problem there. The staff are friendly, and fun, and seem to be encouraged to joke and have a good time with their customers, which I find relaxing. I have been to The Works a number of times, and the one time I did have an issue, my server, Reuben, sorted it out quickly, so service i would state is definetly good. There can be wait times for a table, during a dinner rush, more so on the weekend, usually around 6ish, I find.
The choice of burgers are amazing and delicious. They offer a variety of patties for those with different tastes or needs (ground beef, chicken, turkey, vegetarian, etc) as well as some high class patties made from elk, which are priced more, which is understandable. The variety of burgers changes up, as they offer new flavours or ideas. I, personally, love the Sum Yung Guy, which is cream cheese, gouda, carmalized onions and bacon. Also, i enjoy the side dishes that come with it, because you can get more than jsut your standard onion rings and fries, they also have spicy die cut chips, steamed brocoli, and a few others.
Price wise, I have seen complaints, in regards to the serving size, but can not see the problem. Between the decent size burger, and the side dish, not to mention you are paying for a quality burger, not something you would get at McDonalds. As well, as the wait time, which can be about 20 minutes, seems reasonable, considering the quality you get in return. The few times I had to wait longer was during a dinner rush, which isn't my favourite time to go anyways.
Overall, The Works is a nice, different take on the burger, and it is a great way to introduce someone to trying something new, espically in terms of burger toppings. (like peanut butter, now a favourite of my...

Ah, the enigmatic journey of a gourmet burger joint transforming into a culinary conundrum! I've frequented this place for years, watching its meteoric rise and, sadly, its gastronomic decline. It was like observing a Shakespearean tragedy, but with more grease and less iambic pentameter.
Let's talk burgers - the supposed pièce de résistance. Imagine the Sahara Desert, but less moist. That's the level of dryness we're dealing with. The burgers, once juicy and joy-inducing, now resemble overcooked shoe leather, sans the chic fashion statement. The size? Picture a 'gourmet' burger through a funhouse mirror, shrinking in both ambition and dimensions. Fast food joints, often sneered at by gourmet aficionados, are now looking like Eden with their comparatively fresh offerings.
Toppings, once the crowning glory, are now as sparse as patrons on a Friday night. My recent visit, a ghostly experience on what should have been a bustling evening, was a glaring indicator of the establishment's fall from grace. Is it cost-cutting, or has the chef developed a newfound minimalism? One can only speculate.
After a couple of years away, I returned, hoping for a nostalgic trip down flavor lane. Instead, I embarked on a disappointing culinary cruise with no tasty ports in sight. It seems this restaurant's best days are behind it, much like my intentions of returning. In a world brimming with burger possibilities, this place has unfortunately grilled its way...
Read moreFood wasn't as good as it was before, I don't know if the managing has changed or the ownership but the food overall, not great. I got the pulled pork burger, and you could taste that it wasn't worth those 22 dollars. Moreover, the gentleman that served, the rudest that you can meet out there. I went the Tuesday that passed us with 2 of my friends. We asked for plates, because we had got the onion rings and we didn't want to make a mess. He simply said that usually customers just eat it from the plate. We just wanted a plate, I don't think it is hard to go and grab them. Anyways, he comes back with 3 small mixing bowls. I guess they run out plates. And last think would be about the picture below. My friend asked the server how often you clean the bottles of ketchup, he said everyday. You could see the bottle has some dust and some paper on the edge. The wasn't the issue though. The issue was that the server, did not apologize for it, he replied by saying they clean them everyday and trying to excuse himself by saying, probably a customer did it. After our small argument, he didn't say anything, just ran to the back in the kicthen. This was a horrible experience and bad customer service. From the beginning the time we sat down, you could feel from his answer and how he was talking to us, that it would not been a great night. Just answering with sarcasm and being rude to us. Hopefully management will do something for this, because the traffic at this location has died a lot, and it's not a surprise...
