The fact that we drove 2 hours out of our way (one way!) tells you how much a visit to Watrous Bakery & Coffee Shop is worth. The Boston Creme donuts are worth it alone--but everything we've tried there has also been fabulous. My daughter loves the iced coffee, and the Americano is also great. Other than coffee and donuts there is a good selection of baked goods, even soup for a light lunch (only one type of soup to choose from; we had the delicious green Thai curry chicken). This is one of those places that you are so glad you stumbled on. The pastries are So so delicious! I would say that the apple fritters were the very best that I have ever tasted. The long johns with chocolate! Delicious!! I had a taste of a cinnamon bun and guess what! The best and tastiest!! In our party of four, we agreed hands down that the pastries here are superior. When you get fresh donuts this place is 5/5. Unfortunately more than infrequently they’ll have day-olds that they don’t mark as such and you’ll find them in your bag. It’s upsetting to pay full price for these when they aren’t fresh.

Also a missed opportunity for them to make sandwiches to offer with the daily soup and coffee but that’s just me.

If they start marking down day olds and stop putting them in your box with fresh donuts I’ll change this to a 5/5...
