The Embassy Restaurant — Restaurant in Wawa

Tired after a long drive i ordered shrimp and fries for supper. When the meal arrived the shrimp were almost black! Assuming the cook made a mistake i asked for the shrimp to be replaced. They came back almost black again. The waitress suggested something else. I ordered pork tender loin and baked potatoe. The pork rounds were almost seared black on one side and the potatoe tasted old, not like a baked potatoe. I have never returned a meal in my life. I ate a couple of pork pieces and a couple of mouth fulls of potatoe. I told the waitress it wasnt good and she offered free pie. I asked for a refund and was told managment didnt allow her to do that. I said i would stop in on my return trip two days later. I did and was told by managment that i should have been compensated at the time and now it was too late.

We took a day trip to Wawa and on the way home my husband was ready to stop for Timmies coffee and a bagel but I talked him into checking this place out for all day breakfast just a little after lunch time. Lucky for us we arrived well before their off-season closing time of 2pm. He had the buttermilk pancakes with mini sausages (his usual go-to diner food) and I had 3 eggs sunny-side-up with bacon, french fries and their toasted homemade white bread (bac/eggs are my go-to). We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the service was terrific, very friendly staff!

They are currently (as of the date of this review) adhering to Ontario COVID safety protocols of requiring entering patrons to wear a mask providing proof of full vaccination prior to being seated and served (diner seating is separated as well). Seemed to be the only restaurant/diner open on Thanksgiving Monday. We were greeted by Chris who was really friendly, patient and made some recommendations for us on the lunch menu. I got the steak wrap which was a little bit on the pricey side but it was filling, well cooked, and came pretty quickly! Definitely a place worth stopping by...
