I'm thrilled this Tim Horton's opened up here - it's fresh, new and up to standards. It saves me from having to drive into Newmarket to go to the older, out of date and style Tim Horton's. However, this wonderful new location comes with a caveat....they are inefficient and slow as heck.
If you plan to walk into the restaurant to order, be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes for your food or drink. They'll take your order after a few minutes, and then you'll stand there wondering if you became a forgotten soul. There may not be any other customers in sight besides drive through, but you will wait....and wait...until you have waited long enough, and then they shall offer you your food and drink.
If you plan to go through drive through, this is your BEST option as the drive through is the prioritized channel of ordering. I'm not sure if this is set by franchise owner or by the company, but if you go through drive through, you will be served and you will be on your way driving up Highway 48 enjoying your life...while those that ordered in store are still waiting. Drive through seems to be the only thing that's important so make a good decision today and just go drive through.
This location is NOT understaffed - it is simply staffed by employees who cannot multitask. Don't get me wrong...they all work hard and are extremely busy and I appreciate everything they do to offer us a Tim Hortons location here, but if you order a coffee inside, how hard is it to pour the coffee into a cup and hand it to a customer instead of making them wait 10-15 minutes?
Don't expect any friendliness either - they'll hand you your order and close the window. You'll have to continue sitting there if you want a sleeve for your cup or a solitary napkin.
TIP: Park in the parking lot, order on the mobile app for drive through pickup, and then get to the speaker and tell them it's a mobile order. It helps speed things along for everyone instead of everyone going to a speaker and pondering what to order and then reciting your order for your family of 10. I find ordering in the app and picking it up in drive through is convenient, fast and I'm usually on my way within 5 minutes even when it's busy in the...
Read moreVery disappointed with the handling of a serious food allergy incident!!!
My fiancé and I visited the Tim Hortons location in Aurora yesterday and had a very concerning experience. We went through the drive-thru, and he ordered a Crispy Chicken Chipotle Wrap, clearly requesting no tomatoes due to a food allergy.
After receiving the order, he took a bite and realized the wrap contained tomatoes. He immediately had to take his allergy medication, which was extremely distressing.
I went inside right away to bring awareness to the issue. Tracy, the team member who first approached me, showed genuine compassion and concern for the situation. She immediately got the supervisor, Simran, to address the issue given its urgency.
However, when Simran came over, she admitted to taking the order herself but insisted it wasn’t her fault—blaming her team for the mistake, even though the receipt clearly said “no tomatoes.” Instead of taking accountability or showing empathy, she repeatedly interrupted me while I tried to explain the seriousness of the situation. When I asked her to stop cutting me off, she continued to do so, showing a complete lack of professionalism or compassion.
I was extremely upset by how dismissive and defensive she was, especially given the potential health risk involved. Her attitude made the situation much worse and was witnessed by other staff members.
Tracy deserves recognition for handling this with care, but Simran demonstrated poor leadership and no understanding of how serious food allergies can be. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures proper training is given to prevent this from...
Read moreI go to this tim hortons location quite frequently during my lunch break, and they are always very short with me. I feel very rushed everytime. I figured if it only happens once or twice then I can understand that they are very busy and focused (although it would still be nice if they could focus on the customer as opposed to focusing on their drive thru times and pushing the customer away as quickly as they can.) But it has been happening every single time that I go there and it is getting quite frustrating. It feels rude and disrespectful/inconsiderate. Today, the lady literally had my bagel hanging out the drive thru window before I even got up there, (I had already paid through mobile order), and as I went to grab it I barely had time to say thankyou as she immediately said "here you go, bye." Incredibly rude. The customer should be the focus, not the speed at which orders are being completed. I understand it should be fairly quick , but to a degree. Having food held out the window before I even get there and quickly saying "here you go, bye." Is just too much. Very very poor customer service. if I was rude in any way I could maybe see why they would behave in such a way , but all I did was simply state in my regular voice that I had a mobile order and have never been rude to them in the past either, so I'm not sure why they are like this with me everytime, other than just to try and be quick. Even today with the bagel being held out the window before I was even there, it ticked me off but I kept my cool and just drove off. But they do deserve a poor review for it as it happens consistently,...
