Wok Chef — Restaurant in Whitchurch-Stouffville

Seven years ago I moved to Ballantrae, and after trying many Chinese takeout places in Aurora, Markham and Stouffville, discovered one of the best in the region.

Small and family run in a small strip plaza, most of Wok Chef’s dishes are quite good (excellent fried rice, wife loves the beef & broc and beef ho fen, I like the Wok Chef beef and sweet & sour chicken balls), but where Wok Chef really excels is in unfaltering consistency: food is always cooked the same and tastes the same.

After moving an hour away and trying to find a new place, I’ve realized how rare a restaurant like Wok Chef actually is. Such that whenever I’m passing though Ballantrae, I’ll make it a point to stop in and pick up my favourites… which still taste just like I love!

Order early, as they get very busy and a 1-2 hour wait...

This past weekend, I accidently ordered 2 meals from 'Wok Chef' thinking they were the local 'Chef Wok' restaurant in Owen Sound. Owen Sound is 3 hours away from Whitchurch-Stouffville, so this was a clear mistake on my part (quickly searching on google and choosing the first number).

While standing in line at the Owen Sound 'Chef Wok' the woman from 'Wok Chef' called to let me know my order was ready. At that point I had realized what I had done and apologized to her. She was completely understanding of my mistake and forgave me with out judgment even though I knew their restaurant lost time and material for making my accidental order.

wasnt even feeling chinese food tonight. decided to get it as its a healthier choice over mc ds. got the dinner for 1 with chicken wings beef with brocolli and chicken fried rice, and man oh man it was soooooooooooooooo goood. the brocolli is to die for, the chicken wings r some of the best, the beef is insanely good. girl friend got the same thing but instead of wings she got wok chef beef and that maybe one of the best things ive ever had in my mouth. best chinese food ive ever had, my new go to resturaunt. good...
