I’m really hesitant to write this review as I was a server for 3 years, and my girlfriend has been a server for 7 years at this point. And I’ve only written good reviews. I think. Fact check me if I’m wrong.
I understand having “a rough night” or even “being really busy”. But there was no sense of humility. And from the get go, this felt like an intentional way of ruin ting our night.
Context: we won free tickets a few months ago to go watch the oilers get SPANKED by the capitals. Whatever I’m over it at this point. But with those free tickets we received a “Free surf and turf dinner for two on April 11th”.
My Girlfriend booked off work for the night and I re worked my schedule a little bit in order to make it. Cause let’s be honest, who’s turning down free surf and turf.
We told our server we are here for the free Surf and Turf. She said she didn’t know what we’re talking about. “Okay fair enough, maybe she’s new”. So we handed her the literal coupon we received. She talked to her manager and then came back and told us it only comes with one portion of Surf and Turf.
Huh? No we didn’t book off work to get one portion.
But it comes with two glasses of wine she said. Okay WOOOOOOO I love free wine.
Sooo anyways the wine comes out and only one glass comes out. Huh? We both ordered wine so what’s going on. We then tried to flag down our server for 20 mins but she never checked up on us.
The food eventually comes out. And wouldn’t ya know it? ONLY ONE PORTION OF SURF AND TURF. Alright whatever I guess we will dig in. BUT OH WAIT. We didn’t have any cutlery or plates. Napkins are off the table at that point.
We tried to flag down a server for 10 minutes to get some cutlery. We finally found one who could help us. She brought us out some stuff but at that point the food was cold. Colder than the ice our beloved oilers play on. #97.
We complained a little bit. Which I’ve never done before so i felt a little weird. 5 mins after that, a second Surf and turf came out. It was hot so i gave it to my girlfriend who was waaaaay more excited about the ordeal than me. My lovely girlfriend insisted that they should reheat my food. Our servers solution was “I can put it under the heat lamp”. ???? ……like no thank you. I was being nice so I just said nah don’t worry I’ll just eat it.
Coldest steak and shrimp I’ve ever eaten but whatever I didn’t wanna be a rude person.
Anyways we eat our meh food and she comes back over and says that she’ll give us a free dessert. WOOOOOOHOOOO I love free dessert.
Anyways we decide to stay because we loooooove the Dorito wings they have. We order them and then…of course….we wait 20 mins for them to come out. Again whatever, maybe they are busy. They come out Cold. Colder than cold itself. We then wait ANOTHER 5 mins before we flag down the literal manager. We send them back (which I’ve literally never done before so it felt really rude. I feel bad but like….cmon) and then they come out with the fresh wings (which were fire btw) and we went to Munchy town.
At the end of the day we got our free dessert and gave our server enough of a tip to cover the Kitchen and Bar tip out (we aren’t monsters). But we found the one server that actually helped us and gave her a 10 dollar tip out of pure pettiness.
Anyways. I hope nobody goes to this location when there are like 10 other ones in the city that do a...
Read moreWaiting an hour and a half for ICE COLD food, having to send the ICE COLD food back and a manager who not only argues, but RAISES their voice at a customer!! How incredibly dissapointing, save your time and your money this place is NOT WORTH IT!
Earlier tonight (sept/14/2025), family and I had to wait AN HOUR AND A HALF for our food, and if that was not bad enough it was ICE COLD! Not even room temperature, but ICE COLD to the point where we had to send our food back, and cancel some of our orders since it was completely unacceptable and inedible. Since when did restaurants decide to stop having standards, a freshly cooked, piping hot meal is the BARE MINIMUM. Every single plate we received was also ice cold to the touch, automatically indicating that our food was completely neglected, tossed to the side and was not under the hot plate. The only reason why my mother and brother had a couple small bites of the sad, pitiful food they ordered was because they needed to for medical reason.
When our bill came out, my family and I discovered that we were expected to pay full price for all of the ice cold, inedible food that they deemed was completely acceptable to serve us. We had our waitress bring the manager (swooped back brunett hair, stubble on his face, glasses, wearing an adidas sports polo tucked into was looked like a pair of golf slacks) over to our table. After talking to him, he finally decided to cover one of the ice cold miserable pizzas and provide a small discount of 10%.
The manager then asked us if we could provide feedback on our experience. My mother went on to politely explain how we understand that things happen and would not have minded the hour and a half wait if we had gotten fresh piping hot food. Instead of hearing possible solutions to make improvements so no one else had to go through the same dreadfull experience, we got told by him that he is not here to argue with us, that it was not his fault, it was the kitchens, and that he can't make the food cook any faster. Does he not communicate or interact with the kitchen staff? We then told him that after checking on our food like he stated he was going to do, we would have appreciated him coming back to our table to provide an update on the situation. He once again stated that it is not his fault but the kitchens, that he is not here to argue with us, BUT THEN LATER RAISES HIS VOICE AND ARGUES WITH MY MOTHER IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS which is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. He yelled that they had done more than enough for us and there was nothing else they can do for us, then after paying for the bill and we are about to leave says that if we decide to come back and he is working he will try to make it a better experience for us? How brave and bold of him to assume that we would come back, especially after how he treated and got vocal with my mother in front of other customers.
For us to even consider coming back and giving the Brewhouse another chance, there would need to be a change in management/leadership, in addition to the quality of food and...
Read moreI’m writing this review because, despite my frustrations, I know that at some point, I’ll likely have to return to this brewhouse. Unfortunately, every visit here is consistently disappointing, and today’s experience was no exception—if anything, it was slightly worse than usual.
When we sat down, it took 10 to 15 minutes for our server to even acknowledge us. She eventually brought menus, but not the one I needed. Before I could ask for the brunch menu, she had already zipped away. She appeared busy, but with not much actually going on. After another wait, she returned, and we ordered our drinks.
I’m not easily surprised anymore, but screwing up soda water left me baffled. The soda water I received was flat, with barely any bubbles—the essential characteristic of soda water. I sent it back, hoping for a proper replacement, only to receive another glass 20 minutes later. To my dismay, this one had even fewer bubbles and was coated with soap residue on the glass (like the previous glass). It was deeply unappetizing.
The service didn’t improve from there. We waited a full 45 minutes after sitting down before our food finally arrived, delivered by the manager. I was relieved that, for once, the food was warm—a rare improvement in their service. Unfortunately, that relief didn’t last. The omelette I ordered had a distinct, unpleasant taste, reminiscent of wet dog. I suspect this might be due to improperly cleaned cutlery or dishes, which, like the glass, were crusted with soap residue. By this point, I didn’t even bother sending the food back—after all, if they can’t manage soda water or clean tableware, what hope was there for a satisfactory resolution?
When I requested the bill, our server took another 10 to 15 minutes to bring it. To be clear, this wasn’t a case of an overworked waitress handling a busy shift. It felt more like incompetence or sheer indifference. Either way, it left a sour impression.
I’m sure this review will prompt a standard “please contact us so we can improve” response. I’m not asking for much, especially since I’ll inevitably be dragged back here by my partner. All I want is to sit down at a table, pick up a fork, drink from a glass, or eat off a plate and know that they’re...
