Giving 1 star because the girl at the front counter when we picked up our order was very nice, and we EVENTUALLY were able to get a refund from Brady. I usually do not leave bad reviews, and realize that businesses are going through tough times due to the pandemic currently. However, the quality of food/service which I received last night I believe was ridiculous for the PRICE. Our order total was $88.47, and we left a 10% tip, making the total $97.35 for 4 meals. Keep in mind that this tip was given online, before any service/food was even experienced. Had this been in person, I usually judge my tip based off of actual experience (and potentially give higher or lower). I'm just going to summarize the food real quick: -The burger was cold and had condiments which we had checked "no" for, on the online menu. -The fish & chips were soggy and when moved to another plate, completely just fell apart. The fries were more like spaghetti noodles (and keep in mind that we picked up the order right at the time they said it was ready, at 8:20 and do not live far from this location at all). - The fish & chips also came with a "coleslaw" which was extremely wilty, with a chunk of very un-fresh looking lemon on top. - The "tuna poke bowl" had a glob of rice that we couldn't even pull apart. This was obviously rice that had been sitting in the pot all day/from the night before. - The "dragon bowl" wasn't too bad, however the rice was just hard, and there was only about a handful of actual food in the big bowl that it came in. Weird. In general, everything was cold and very unappealing (and we're not picky people; $10 fast-food would have been 100x better for us!) When we called and spoke with the manager on duty (Brady), he was pleasant initially, and then began to get defensive when we began describing our food. He said that the lemon was supposed to look like that and that lemons are "supposed to have brown seeds". After a bit of this tedious back and forth, he offered to refund us $40 (less than half of our bill, not even giving the tip back LOL). Eventually I gave the phone to my daughter, and she just straightforwardly said that we aren't eating any of it, will even bring it back, and asked for the full refund - which he grudgingly agreed to. I have had a few experiences at Browns Social House in person, and they were all very pleasant. This is why I chose to takeout from this restaurant this time around. Of course, food quality is not going to be the same with takeout, and that is out of everyone's control right now. However, I do expect almost $100 worth of food to not look like compost, and to at least be made in the way which we indicated on the ordering website. When we offered Brady to bring back our food (which was barely eaten, not even for 2 minutes), he told us no. This is understandable due to COVID, however the fact that he kept doubting/denying our descriptions of it leads me to have to post these pictures online. I also believe it is important for this business and potential customers to see what kind of food they are sending out, and then defending. I have attached the pictures below! :)

Visited with a group of friends at 1 o’clock on August 5, a holiday, to enjoy a few dishes from the brunch menu. Once we were seated, and I asked about server about the brunch menu and she said that that’s only on holidays. Today is a holiday everywhere in Canada, except for Quebec. Very disappointed and embarrassed as I had chosen this restaurant and we decided to go elsewhere. FOLLOW UP the manager of this restaurant contacted me to say that I did not understand the meaning of a ‘holiday’, and that the brunch menu is only offered on certain holidays. I think they should include that information in their menu. I guess it would be best to CALL AHEAD and see if your holiday is a brunch holiday. I’ll just go elsewhere. Here is the actual answer from the manager at Windermere: Yes we do offer brunch on weekends and statutory holidays. Unfortunately August Long Monday is classified as an “optional holiday” therefore we do not offer brunch. To help explain it I can use Easter as an example. The actual stat holiday is actually Good Friday which we would have brunch service for. Easter Monday however is not a stat holiday therefore we would not offer brunch service.

This is ridiculous, came here for an anniversary dinner and I’ve never been more disappointed in my entire life, our server kept walking away when we wanted to order or ask questions about the menu. Finally we were able to order and I ordered myself a soup and garlic cheese toast to start our dinner. We waited and waited for my soup and our entree ended up coming out before my appy. Later on I received my soup but I believe the manager dropped it off and ran off before I was able to ask for pepper for my soup so I waited with no quality check from our server, waiting for pepper and my soup got cold. Now onto our entree. We got nachos and more than half the cheese was melted on the parchment paper rather than on the chips. And the remaining cheese was not melted. Was very disappointed about the service especially coming from a management (as he was wearing a different colour rather than black) and I will not be recommending this place to anyone. On top of this we got our bill and I noticed I paid 3 dollars for cheese for my garlic toast and there was barely any cheese. Ridiculous

Visited Browns Socialhouse, Edmonton (Windermere) with family yesterday and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience from start to finish.

From the moment we arrived, service was lacking. We were not offered water, and it took quite a while before someone came over to take our drink order — not our assigned server, but someone filling in. Despite the restaurant not being busy (with one side almost empty), it took about 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive.

Once we received our drinks, we placed our food order, which also took longer than expected. At one point, two waitresses approached our table with plates, and we assumed our food had finally arrived — only to watch them place the plates at the table behind us. The individuals at that table passed around two of the dishes, clearly unsure if they had ordered them. Only after realizing the mistake did the waitresses retrieve the plates and bring them to us.

We pointed out that two of our dishes — my mother’s and my niece’s — had been touched by people at the other table. We asked for a new plate to be made for my mom, but one of the waitresses looked confused, seemingly not understanding why my mom didn’t want food that had been passed around strangers. They took her plate back, but my niece was too hungry to wait and ate hers.

About 15 minutes later, they brought out the replacement nachos — cold. It felt like the same plate had just been brought back. During this entire ordeal, we continued to ask for water. We asked at least three times before it finally came — after our meal had already been served and eaten.

No one ever checked in to see if we needed drink refills or if everything was okay. Our assigned server didn’t come by once until I flagged him down to ask for water — for the third time. I also informed him about the food being mistakenly served to another table and then brought to us. He apologized and said no one had told him what happened. A few minutes later, he finally brought the water.

Eventually, the manager came over and asked what the issue was. We explained everything, including the fact that she was present when our food was brought out and mistakenly given to another table. She insisted that no one had touched our food. However, when I asked her whether she was aware that the restaurant had a policy about not serving food that has been placed on another customer’s table, she didn’t deny it. Still, she expected my mother to accept the food. No solutions were offered. We also informed her that the second batch of nachos was cold, and that my mom wasn’t willing to eat them. She left the restaurant without having a meal.

When it was time to pay, my aunt asked the server if the takeout fettuccine she had ordered earlier was included in the bill. The server checked and realized it hadn’t been added. He corrected the bill, and my aunt proceeded to pay — but first confirmed that the takeout meal was ready, since it had been ordered with the rest of our food. The server assured us it would be ready in two minutes. Unfortunately, it wasn’t — he had forgotten to place the order entirely, and we had to wait another 15 minutes for it to be prepared.

Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. The lack of basic service, mishandling of food, and overall indifference from staff and management made it one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in...

Been here many times and received great service with good food. Today was terrible. First, our server put in the order for appies and forgot to put in the order for entrees. Second, the server switched with another server and didnt tell us that we would receive another waitress. It took awhile just to get refills with water. Third, my friend ordered tea. When he received the drink there were nothing with it. My friend had to ask for honey and sugar. The table beside us ordered the same drink and received sugar honey sweetners and milk. The server showed she didnt care at all. Fourth, we waited an hour to get our food and when I received my burger the bun was burnt. When Itouched the bun it crumbled. I complained to the server and the bun was not toasted but also cold like it came out the freezer. Also i ordered no tomato and that was in the burger. Again the server showing us that we are not her priority. The restaurent was not busy enough for us to think that the food would take that long. Fifth, after being so furious with the whole expirience i wanted to pay the bill and leave. The third server brought us the bill and when she did she put it on the table and left right away. She didnt offer a debit machine in case we needed it nor did I have enough time to ask her for a machine because she left so fast. 10 minutes later she came with the machine and ask if we needed it. Unbeleivable! When in comes to managing the place, we shouldve been given explanations on why we werent told about shift change (we had no idea who our actual server was ) or why the food took forever. We had to ask for everything. I should have just ordered myself and serve myself and tip myself as well. This restaurent seemed like they did not give a damn about the customers. I WOULD NOT GO BACK EVER AGAIN IF I RECEIVED SERVICE LIKE THAT. I will not come back to that specific browns and i will not suggest this place to my...
