We wanted to see what all the cars parked for and we found this very popular restaurant. The prices are super low and the food pretty decent. If you’re looking for affordable decent food to take home, this is a perfect place for you. This isn’t your common Indian restaurant like Clay Oven or Cilantro’s. Most of our order came cooled except the samosas and roti. The roti was ok but I like naan bread more; it was a little dry and a little sweet. The texture of the roti reminded me of a pancake. We also ordered butter chicken, curry chicken, veg korma, and rice. Once we got home, we warmed them up. The samosas crispy wrapping smoother than what I’m used to and the veggie stuffing was less salty. Overall good light tasting samosa. The red sauce was a little spicy; the white sauce was a bit creamy and taste a little like yogurt. The curry was less oily and creamy than your typical Indian restaurant. The butter chicken was a little spicy which I liked. The curry chickens had very little thickness to it; it was okay in my books. I’m both these curry though the chicken was great; flavourful and soft. The veg korma was surprisingly good too. The rice was okay and nothing special. A few things to note. We tried to order take out over the phone a few times but always went to voicemail. We had to go to the restaurant and order in person. They were super busy as expected. There isn’t much of a menu to view in the store so if you’re new, I recommend looking up some of the photos of the menu and learning what they are. The cashier tried to help explaining some items to us but it was difficult understanding because I didn’t know the names of foods and there were no visual aids (images or a menu)

We decided to try this restaurant because it quite popular restaurant in Winnipeg. But had a very bad experience. We spent 30-40 dollar on our order but the quality is too low even the spring roll doesn’t even taste good . It’s like they gave us last night spring roll because it’s really really bad and we just dump our food in the garbage because the noodles are like rubber . Most importantly we also order 5 rotis extra but they forget to add it . Then we just called them and tell about the their quality of food and even we said that you are missing our 5 rotis but the lady who was on the phone was so irresponsible and doesn’t even say sorry. She’s not even offer us anything about our rotis and just say *appa next tym dyaan rakhage* . So I review here and if u r reading this then I say if u r not making ur customers happy then u r not doing ur job properly . Because this is not the way u r dealing with ur customers. Don’t wanna recommend this restaurant anymore . And the whole situation is just 50 mint ago .

Mohamed and I decided to see the hype of the many cars always parked on this street in front of Dawat one night. The place is more of a pick up and go/take out and quite small inside, no dine-in. The one who took our order was a very kind lady who explained to us and suggested to us what their best to-go meals were since it was our first time there. Since we did not order in advance we had to wait about 8 minutes in the car. The total came to $9. We ordered the following as our late night snacks: Roti 0.60 - we had 2 for our order. This was dry and she did mention that but not spicy, which was ok for me. We had another type called Aloo Jera ($3.00) filled with potatoes, onions, spices, and herbs and that was really good with an extra spiced kick to it. The yogurt provided to us was not to our liking though as it was way too sour. We also had veggie samosas which were crisp and tasty.

We ordered food for our company lunch and dinner 3 times in a day for about 250 employees. It was so good we are multicultural company with employees from Different culture and community everyone like it. I gave instructions to make it less spicy it was as per given instructions and for every 3 shift they delivered fresh food moreover their packaging and delivery was awesome they putt food in foil containers and doubled them just to prevent food safety and to keep them warm. They delivered on time it was first time we ordered Indian food for our employees before they always ordered Canadian food that food was not even that good and cost us more for every month employee lunch. For Dawat it was so reasonable They even asked us to pay for such big order at time of delivery. It was extremely good experience. We ordered Butter chicken, Panner butter Masala, Raita, Rice and Roti for sweet dishes Kheer and Gulab Jamun. The person I was talking and dealing with so nice and honest. When I got quote for food he said different price we were Ok paying that but on the order day He called and told me that your amount is lesser than what he told us before se He asked me if I wanted to add some extra items. He is organized and polite person so he added some appetizers on his own if he wanted he wouldn’t call is back or asked because we already agreed to pay that amount. I was scared because it was big responsibility on me to arrange everything for such a big amount of employees but they are so good they managed everything well and on time with fresh and best food. Even Owner of company was impressed with food and he asked me from where did I ordered this food. I would like to Thank you for all who provided best service to us. If we will order any Indian food in future this is the place I will be ordering always....
