This McDonald's is a bit newer and a bit different than the others. If you've been inside of any other McDonald's in the city, you're probably used to having the cash registers on the right and order pickup on the left. This one has it the other way around where the registers are on the left and pickup on the right. There's plenty of seating though you'll definitely notice a more rectangular layout to the building compared to other locations. Drive-thru service here seems to be rather hit or miss, many times they'll park you as others have pointed out, and they apparently seem to like to do that so much to people that they have a door right by the kitchen and registers to the outside to bring orders out (hmm). Otherwise no complaints about food quality, tastes just like any other McDonald's, though I've noticed that sometimes fries aren't filled up as much as they could be. The employees seem to be doing their best, but improvements can definitely be made to timeliness.
January 2021 edit: in the year and a half since my original review things have gotten a fair bit better on the drive-thru side of things. There is still the odd time where you may be parked, but it actually seems to be driven more by whether there's actually someone behind you or not lately. Additionally, using the McDonald's app has mitigated many pain points. It's at a point now where I'd say they're a stone's throw away from matching the Regent one, so I've decided to tack an additional star on.
September 2024 edit: I'm maintaining the stars as they are but I do feel it's prudent to let people know that this location has suddenly put the kibosh on self-service drinks and refills. The way the notice taped to the drink machine is worded is just vague enough to make you think it suffered a major breakdown that was deemed a no-fix, but when I sat down just a day or two after it was first put up someone pressed one of the managers on duty on what the deal was, they told them that actually, "they just turned it off", contrary to what you might think. Plus they got rid of the "refresh. refill. enjoy!" banner right above it. Because of that, I have a feeling this location is probably one of the next ones lined up for McDonald's' latest renovation, or should I say, sterilization campaign. Enjoy it while it lasts I guess.
July 2025 edit: I'm happy to report that it appears armageddon for self-service drinks and refills seems to have been delayed indefinitely, at least at this location! Perhaps thanks in part to Ramzy's review too, as it's back on and straws and lids are back beside it. But given the corporation's desire to eliminate them across the board, do still enjoy it while it lasts, since that "refresh. refill. enjoy!" banner is not back up and probably in the dump...
Read moreNice workers, I came to the counter to pay with cash and a lovely young lady took my order. She was friendly and we had a great conversation, very enjoyable! Am a bit confused as to why she was the only one with a white shirt but she explained to me and was very helpful and fast with my order. Will return as workers here seem helpful and it is a clean, fast environment. Only concern is the fries could be filled up more.
Edit: Came back yesterday during the afternoon and the place was filthy and food was cooked with no care for the customers joy. Fries cold. Workers acted nice but they gave me looks of annoyance. So sad.
Edit 2: Returned again yesterday and I was met with extremely poor service. Waited for over 5 minutes to get my order taken đĄ Workers were laughing and screaming chatting it up like I did not exist. Felt very uncared for I might not return after this experience. Seems like they fired all the good employees and left the careless ones to ruin the establishment đĄ They were talking so much that they took 15 minutes to get my order out and by the time it was out my fries were cold and they put pickles in my McDouble when I said NO PICKLE. I am extremely disappointed. What happened to all the good workers from review one? đĄ So disappointed! Do better
Edit 3: I came in yesterday and ordered a junior chicken and it had a hair cooked into the meat đĄ I was fuming! I went back around 8pm and these two ladies were very kind to me on counter. The lady in the blue gave me a very sincere apology and the lady in the white gave me fresh fries and pie for free along with a new junior chicken. I am glad to see there are some kind workers still here, I hope this corporation will hire good workers who resolve problems instead of manipulating customers. Both ladies made sure my fries were filled to the top. I am very satisfied but next time I hope I do not receive hair again. Thanks to the ladies on counter for the help, no thanks to the cook who had on no hair net đĄ
Edit 4: Tried giving this location another chance but never again! Horribly rude lady with turban took my order she was irritable, frustrated, and had no care. Got my order completely messed up so I had to get it all redone đĄ On top of this disgraceful behaviour she had the audacity to talk about me to her co-workers and made it obviously with her looks of pure evil towards me and my children. I am frustrated and disappointed as this is my third encounter with her and all three have been extremely disrespectful and poor! How can this establishment feel OK to hire extremely aggressive workers? đ”âđ«đ€Šââïž Absolutely unbelievable, will never return after...
Read morethis time devonshire took it too far, enough is enough. for YEARS iâve bit my tongue regarding the customer service of this mcdonalds, but after tonight i cannot remain silent. my fiance and i entered the lobby at approximately 9:54pm on friday night. we ordered our meals like usual and selected the dine in feature. when waiting by the counter we requested to sit inside the dining room when the assistant manager named Chadwick exclaimed it was closed for the evening. to our surprise we noticed a few people still eating inside. also i will mention his customer service skills were lacking serverly as he rudely prepared our meals. next thing we know, the couple just behind us was getting their vaccine cards scanned and were allowed to dine in after we had been told no. major confusion was brought to our attention as conflicting policies were being practiced. we got our food and let the next couple know that they might just kick them out and to be prepared. currently i am writing this review from my car in the parking lot where we now are forced to eat our dinner. glancing in the windows sits two tables of happy customers that get to eat their food inside. never again will i trust that my neighbourhood mcdonalds will serve me to their greatest potential and will advice others to beware of lousy...
