Went there this morning with my son. Not very busy, only two other tables in place and the were already eating. We ordered our eggs and ended waiting over half an hour for them. When our food finally arrived both our plates were stone cold. The waitress apologized and offered to cook us new ones, but I explained that my son is autistic and I couldn't wait that long for food. My son did eat some of his toast and bacon and we both had drinks. With my stomach growling, I went to pay and she proceeded to tally up the entire bill, which I stated that I was surprised that she would charge me for the entire meal since we didn't eat it. At this point she offered a discount (25%) saying that was the best she could do. I said I would pay it but they would never see me again. AT this point someone else (a supervisor?) decided to poke her nose in and tell me that I was "yelling at a kid" I was not yelling. I raised my voice by an appropriate level, barely above speaking volume. She then said "just go. Get out of here" They then proceed to talk about me with me still in the restaurant. I stated that I was not yelling at them at which time I was told to "GET OUT" and I left. I will be staying away...
Read moreParty of 4, generally overlooked by serving staff as they were more concerned with making jokes with the kitchen, or hanging with family and talking about what they’ve been doing.
I ordered a Hawaiian burger..supposed to come with grilled pineapple. Funny thing. I don’t know how you’d grill canned pineapple tidbits, and then to only get 3 little pieces… is pineapple that expensive? Plus, my burger was pinkish in the middle. Couldn’t get the servers attention so I just left it at that. Brought it up at time to pay, and for the first time ever, still a half burger on my plate… got shrugged off with a “kitchen was pretty busy”.
GF ordered a Greek salad. Came without feta, or olives. So basically got a “salad”. lol. Excuse? Kitchen staff is new. lol!
The rest of our party was less than impressed with the meal, the service, and the bill!
Maybe on a day when there’s less than 8 people in there it might be better. But I won’t be going back… many more places in and around the city that’ll take my money and...
Read moreMy father and uncle visit the NOB Cafe for Breakkie almost every Saturday and have been for years. They are raving fans. I joined them this past weekend for the first time in 5 ish years and was reminded of why they have this habit and routine. Firstly, the food was great, the price is very fair and competitive, and value for money is quite good as well. Secondly, our 2 servers were fantastic! The main server (Morgan) did a bang up job, and I made sure to let her know. I didn't catch the other young women's name, although she was on-the-mark as well in her efforts. I mentioned to Morgan, that in an age of low service-standards in general, that she FAR exceeded our expectations, in the most positive way. For example, she humbled herself when she didn't know an answer to our questions, went to ask her manager, and came back with answers. She was very polite, kind, and service-oriented. Well done Morgan and...
