Edit, in response to the owner: Have contacted through that email address multiple times expressing our concerns. The manager we eventually got in contact with would not address our concerns in any attempt to make anything right. Then, she stopped replying to our emails entirely. We tried sending two, to make sure they had been received, and after months we have still not received a reply. Your responses to negative reviews are not personalized... they are simply a scapegoat to direct people to an email address where their concerns will never be addressed (from our experience). Would you like me to publicize the name of the ‘manager’?
After years of ordering Pizza Hotline and from other pizza places in Winnipeg, this review is well thought out.
Pizza is good! Better than mediocre but lower than great.
Prices have increased recently to well above other pizza places around Winnipeg. No longer worthwhile deals to be had here. They do not offer any specials (deals, discounts, student and senior pricing, coupons). They do not have specials per days of the week.
Their ‘XLs’ are the size of a normal pizza place’s medium, or, generously, a normal large.
The wait times can be long, except compared to Pizza Hut which can take hours. At a fairly peak time, it seems like the wait generally is upwards of 45 minutes to an hour for Pizza Hotline.
The radio ads mention how Pizza Hotline is a local business, but the way they treat customers is poor... the opposite you’d expect from a local business. Have found the chain pizza places such as Domino’s and Boston Pizza to treat customers extremely well compared to the close to zero customer service at Pizza Hotlines.
Delivery drivers are paid very low per delivery.
Have experienced extremely poor customer service from Pizza Hotline on numerous occasions. Instead of outlining particular examples, will just simplify to a main trend- unwillingness to make things right if anything goes arye. Have tried through their customer service/support as well as through management to no avail for quality treatment.
For comparison, Domino’s and such places score a 5/5 on above factors.
Struggled with giving a 2/5. Would have given 2.5/5 if possible. 2/5 could be viewed as irrational. But, considering the above seriously and in comparison to other pizza places, Pizza Hotline in reality deserves a 2.5/5 or maybe...
Read moreHaving driven two days of long hours, first from Toronto, and recently from Thunder Bay, a calzone sounded like it would hit the spot, and judging from the reviews online, Pizza Hotline sounded like a tasty and safe bet for takeout. Wow.... what an ordeal and mistake. For starters, I ordered 5 calzones over the phone with an employee who had great difficulty understanding or repeating my order for me. After 15 minutes of back and forth over the phone we finally had our order correct and placed. Now you would think that when someone orders more than 2 calzones, the boxes would be labelled somehow...but no. We had to cut I to all 5 to see who was who's. How were the calzones? To put it kindly....dry lumps of dough! There were next to no toppings inside and sauce???? Arent calzones sauce based??? Anyway, I cant see this being the norm for pizza hotline or theres no way they'd still be in business! But who knows... waste of $60!!! I have awarded 1 star because I cant...
Read moreEDIT: We thought we would give this location another chance (6640 Roblin Blvd), but that was a mistake. This location seems to lack the usually high standards of other locations. Once again, our pizzas were not properly cut. Pizza Hotline yes, this location, no.
Ordered 3 pizzas and as soon as we opened the box, we knew it was going downhill. First pizzas weren't even cut. Second missing hot chili flakes. Third missing the buttered crust. Fourth pizzas were burnt with black bottoms and the taste of charcoal. Finally, the bread sticks were cold and flavorless. Such a huge disappointment. Avoid...
