Sorrento's is a great place. We've been going there for decades and although they update they never change so much it isn't Sorrentino's. As always, go HUNGRY, there portioning is very generous, especially the salads. When looking at the price, remember that you are probably going to have half of it for lunch tomorrow. It was a group of 6 for a birthday party, mixed vegetarian and omnivorous bunch and everyone was happy. I had the chicken Teriyaki which comes over rice, spaghetti or some other carb and is very good. I had spaghetti since I like brown rice and most places serve white basmati (boring) it was really good, and very filling. The soup is really good, one in the group had chicken noodle and it was full of big chunks of chicken meat, lots of veg and spiral noodles. My minestrone was full of big chunks of veg, rice tomato stock, not too spicy. Their half bowl is more than most places give as a full serving so you can easily make a meal just of the soup. They have added pork riblits to the appetizers, I like ribs so I tried them. They are lightly breaded and deep fried and not really to my taste. We shared them out and most people thought the same - ok, but I wouldn't order them again. It was a good night, good food, good service and we had a great time. They have a larger room in back for groups and you can carry on conversations without too much trouble. A place that is informal and casual, prices are moderate and I've never had a bad meal there in 3 decades.

This was our first time eating in at Sorrento's. We were quickly greeted and seated at our table. We noticed right away though that the restaurant was incredibly cold. We each had on shorts and tank tops definitely not the right attire for the temperature inside. We waited to see if the air conditioning would slow but unfortunately it did not. We are not ones to complain but my daughter was shaking at the table. I mentioned the temperature to the server who replied with, it's always this way so I wear a sweater and said that she could not turn down the air conditioning. We sucked it up and made the best of it placing my daughter between the adults to keep warm. While we were sitting there awaiting our meal an older couple came in and mentioned the temperature too. She was told the same thing lucky for her she had a blanket in her car and she went out to get that. We ordered our dinner. It arrived hot, fresh and tasty. However, it was really hard to enjoy our food in the cold temperature. We ate quickly and left. We still plan to order from Sorrento's in the future because the food is fantastic but we will not dine in again at least not during the summer time. Food - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Restaurant- ⭐⭐⭐

I’ve been visiting this restaurant for many years, specifically at this location, and I can confidently say that the staff and owner are amazing—they truly go above and beyond! Since moving to Toronto recently, I make it a point to return whenever I'm in Winnipeg; it’s genuinely my favorite restaurant! Today, when I called, I forgot some items on the menu. The gentleman I spoke with patiently walked me through it and was more than happy to prepare my favorite dish, even though it was no longer on the menu. Upon my arrival, I was greeted with the sweetest smile. When I told the waitress my name for pickup, she immediately recognized my order and recalled our conversation her boss had spoken to be about —what a personal touch! This is my favorite restaurant in Winnipeg, and I can only wish there was a place this good in Toronto. To the staff and owners, if you see this: thank you so much for not only the amazing food but also for your outstanding customer service!

On June the 8th around 620 PM myself and two of my friends came to the restarunt here in winnipeg on Grant I ordered the chicken bacon melt, my friend's had a salad and wings and a LG pizza. around 7 their order arrived in full (we were warned it would be a half hour for the food) I was told my order would just be a few minutes. it was 730 when I finally looked at my friends who were finished, angry and completely shocked at the lack of service and said I would just go eat else were. the waitress then told me my order should just be coming up if I wanted to stay, however I told her I would rather not make my friends stay around and wait for me to eat alone, we had all just gotten off work and we were leaving. at that point she said I'll just go see if I can write it off and give it to you to go and she left. 5 minutes later she returned and told me the manager said if I take the order I pay for it there would be no write off. at that point I explained to her that I was 100% dissatisfied with the experience and lack of customer service from the manager and I would be leaving. I am not from the area and I leave in the morning, my friends however are regulars and were embarrassed by the actions, since this was their favorite place and they had made a huge deal that if I was going out for 1 supper THIS was were we were going. this would not fly back home, if this were any restarunt in Halifax the meal would have been comped and the received meal would have been discounted, the manager would have come out to apologize, not send a "take it or leave it" message with the staff, my friends orders would not come without mine, ect. so many NOs in this situation. The kicker was there were other guest who had come in and been seated well after us, who were getting their pastas and hamburgers and salads ect, and I was told they were backed up. I had a poutine on the side that could have easily been given as an appetizer while waiting for my main meal but wasn't, I have worked in MANY kitchens and I understand things happen, but there was no indication of anything being wrong, no suggestions offered and other than my waitress whole was AMAZING and you could see was very hurt by the whole ordeal absolutely no customer service. I left hungry and my friends left angry and embarrassed.

I also rarely complain to a company about their services due to my past experiences in a kitchen. but the managers attitude was well reflected in his/her message threw the staff, it is no way to...

Hi i would like to Review Charleswood Sorrentos restaurant , with especial attention to its owner-manager Carlos Marinelli.I ordered A large Spaghetti with meatballs and salad on Dec 11 2020.after 1 hr i started calling to ask what's going on, they told me it would be 45 minutes when ordering. The food finally came to my door at 2HRS and 10 minutes after ordering. The meal was cold and needed to be microwaved, salad was left out, no garlic toast.they threw in a complimentary bag of cold stale bread sticks, which i can't eat.I called and complained, and was told the bread sticks were to make up for the salad and cold meal etc...I told them i can't eat bread sticks, so why were they in my order, and where is the salad. I paid $45 for the pleasure of this mess.I was told by the staff when I called that they would mail out a credit for a free meal.I said fine, if you make it good, i'll continue to order from your restaurant (I have been a loyal customer for 35 years). After 8 days, i called, as instructed if i didn't get the credit in the mail.they said they didn't know why it wasn't sent.I asked to speak to the manager, who is Carlos Marinelli(Hes also the owner).Carlos said , im busy i'll have to call you back in a while. All night passed with no call. The next day i tried again, left message and phone number, again no call.the next 3 days i called, again left message , again no call.Carlos is SO busy he doesn't have 5 minutes in 5 days to call me back.Basically, Carlos stole $45 out of my pocket, and because of his total lack of respect for a 35 year plus customer, he has now lost my business. In these times when you are asking us to patronize local business,Carlos is alienating his customers. If you look into reviews, he regularly behaves like this, being greedy and taking more orders that he can deliver on time.I just thought you should know about this, as i will be posting this everywhere i can to bring it to light. Signed,One of many dissatisfied customers. ZERO STARS (made me leave one to review - how tacky) dont waste your time- always late- dont care UPDATE the day after posting this Carlos miraculously found time to call me back, and said he had intended to make good all the long.Today Jan 9 2021, he sent the refund that was promised to me DEC 11.I suspect if i hadn't posted this, he had no intention of...

Very disappointed in this place. The food is descent and that’s what has kept us coming back for the last 7 years but we won’t be back after today. I ordered through Skip the Dishes tonight (as I always do) and a promotion shows up that when you buy the 2 pizzas (that are listed as one) the next 2 you buy is free and it pops up as a special promotion. Even when I tried three pizzas it wouldn’t let me check out without letting me know if I add one more pizza then I would get the special. I have done this at least 4 times the past few months and have never had a problem, friends and co workers do it and same thing. Tonight I put through my order and was called by a Sorrentos staff wanting to confirm my order, No problem! But then when I explained to her the toppings on my pizza she said the deal was wrong and I was only getting two pizzas for that price and that the deal was wrong. I tried to explain to her I’ve done it multiple times but was cut off and was very rudely told they wouldn’t honour it and was then quoted even a higher price for just the two because they didn’t list one of my toppings. The lady was very curt and made it clear that I was wrong and I offered to show her my bill that showed the promotion but she said it wouldn’t be honoured. I gave up and when told her I would cancel the order she gave me a loud “fine” and hung up. I get it that maybe this promotion was not supposed to be but to be rude and not give me a chance to show the deal or honour it without a kind voice I was very turned off. I now have to deal with Skip the Dishes to be refunded and they will only do a credit so I can’t get it out back on my credit card. It is what it is with that but I wish the restaurant would see the hassle and try to value and keep their customers. I’m not usually one to put a big fuss but this really had me turned off and I can’t be bothered to deal with that type of customer service again. Will be telling my cousin workers that as well on our next Friday order in lunch. The pizza is descent, salads are great but the customer service...
