It was just like any other Thursday. Ready room dispatch, diesel engines running, and sheer determination to accomplish the task at hand.. however daunting that task may be.

As telecom techs, we are fueled by coffee. That rich cup of energy. You would be hard pressed to find a guy on the crew who’s not consuming at least three cups of that java juice every day.

The afternoon hit. The trucks were full of diesel but the crew was low on fuel. Low on hope, low on faith, we needed Thom. Thom Bargen.

Their corydon location was a beacon of light from the depths of that dark commercial construction site across the street (literally no lights).

We stepped inside and placed our order. A red eye for myself and an Always Sunny cold brew for my fellow LineCable tech.

It’s a good thing that misery is a familiar companion and one that’s been drilled into telecom lineman since the beginning of time.. because the cup leaked all over us.

All jokes aside, my last three cups of coffee from various Thom Bargen locations have leaked all over myself and subsequently my pants and my vehicle. Please get...

you see, I am not usually a person who makes reviews, but this place had the worst coffee I have ever tasted, and I have been to a fair share of coffee shops in my lifetime, and I’m not usually one to complain, plus the customer service was great, the workers were lovely. the problem was just the coffee.. me and my friend came here, I bought iced coffee, he bought a latte and we both came to the conclusion it was the worst coffee, nay, drink we have ever tasted. I don’t know if it is the workers at fault or perhaps the supply of coffee was bad because I seem to see good reviews, maybe just the supply of coffee was rotten? no matter the fault I genuinely have never tasted worst coffee. this is probably the first and last review anyone will find of me unless I, god forbid, find worse coffee or food then this, but I mean genuinely the instant coffee I make at home is luxurious in comparison to this not even syrup could save it. it tasted like it could have been toilet water I am 100%...

Food gave it a 1 as I didn't have any so I couldn't judge. Atmosphere cute except for the rack of dirty dishes was full right by the water stand. No one should have to look at that. Staff seemed miserable. I ordered a latte with heavy cream. They go to make it and I noticed she pulled out 1/2 and 1/2. I said I ordered it with heavy cream. She says we only have 1/2 and 1/2. I said you should have told me that. Than she had to issue me a refund as I already paid which held up the line behind me. The baristas need to pay attention to what their customers are asking for and learn that heavy cream is different from half and half. Also my mom ordered a lavender latte and no apology or any explanation- the girl just says we are out. Go across the street...

Just found my new favourite coffee shop. The cappuccino is to die for. It’s creamy, thick, nutty, and not drowned in milk like most spots in Winnipeg. The interior is absolutely stunning: warm wood accents, hanging plants, vintage lights, and cozy seating. A perfect blend of atmosphere and good coffee. I do wish they offered desserts (like Café SHO does) to complete that full European café vibe with great coffee and elegant, not overly sweet treats. That would make this place truly perfect, imo.

First time going to this location, so excited to try and so many high expectations! Unfortunately not all expectations met:) particularly Customer Service...But then again there's always room for improvement. To the lady who took my order please note that simple smile and good gesture affects overall experience, if you are having a bad day I understand, but don't let customers feel unwelcome! Note that you are working in one of the best cafe in the Peg!
