Tourist trap, beware if you are being guided here. We were brought in by a tour guide called Umberto (?) da Souza (everyone refers to him as Souza) with whom we booked an island tour. We regret that we participated in this experience as it was a sheer money grab and the man didn’t know much about the island. He wasn’t honest and kind. The cherry on top was a visit to this restaurant which was supposed to be that small fisherman local place. Turns out it was a place for tourists only where prices were completely off comparing with the rest of the island. Souza would encourge everyone to buy drinks and other stuff at each stop during the trip as he clearly earned a commision. Not elegant and left a bitter taste after the trip. If you hear the name Souza do yourself a favour and...
Read moreWe stopped here as part of an island tour. Our tour guide had the restaurant menu, we told him what we wanted and he pre-ordered so when we arrived, we had a reserved table and they already had our order. The food was OK but I wouldn't classify it as great. The lobster I had was a little tough but I'm not sure if it's they type of lobster, the cooking time, or a little of both. The fish my wife ate was also OK, but nothing to write home about.

I was able to pay with a credit card with...
Read moreLobster was excellent! My tour guide took me here on our stop in Palmeiras. I guess many tour guides do. It is supposedly the best seafood in town but I honestly don’t see the difference between this place and others I have been to.
Granted the quality is still high but the prices are sometimes even higher than Santa Maria (for the same dish). If you are already in Palmeiras then make a stop and eat here. If not, then it is not something worth driving to. Just eat seafood where ever you are...
