I went to the Encinitas Chic Filet this afternoon around 2:30 pm. The gentleman that took my order was gracious and kind. My order was delivered to my table quickly and also with a smile and kindness from the girl that delivered it. Sitting in front of me was a woman wearing pink and she was with a woman who only spoke Spanish. They were laughing and getting along so well it was a pleasure to sit behind them and watch, I finished my meal and the kind gentleman who took my order came by right away and asked if I had finished my meal and when I said yes he took my tray and trash away. I continued to sit there because I was so enthralled watching the kind, unpretentious women at the table in front of me. Occasionally she would ask one of the employees who would walk by and spoke Spanish if they could translate for her. She had them translate that her son was getting married and asked the lady who spoke Spanish how here mother was doing? The translation I overheard was so sweet loving and truly real. This lady in pink cared deeply about the people here. I thought to myself, did she own the franchise? Did she own the company? Did she start Chic Filet with her family? So many questions about who was this magnificent role model of a caring and loving woman. There were several employees starting or leaving their shifts. They all came to say hello and she hugged each and everyone. Continually having a genuine and loving grace about her. She turned back looking behind me several times and I witnessed the love in her eyes. As I left I wanted to acknowledge her being and genuine kindness towards so many folks in that restaurant. Watching someone like this truly makes you want to have these types of interactions and be a better kinder person in a world like ours. I thought to myself what if I would have been looking at my phone as I sat there eating my meal I would have missed this whole thing (by the way I rarely look at my phone in public). I like to watch people. I went outside and asked one of the employees if the lady in pink was the owner? She didn't understand English and just smiled and nodded at me. I left and got into my car and stated to drive away. The lady in pink walked out with a gentleman that worked there and the lady who only spoke Spanish. I had overhead that she had a Coach purse to give to her and what would be her favorite color. I wanted to stop and get out of the car and let her know my feelings of what I had encountered while watching her interactions but felt that that would be dumb and I might seem like a weirdo. I went to my hair appointment and so regretted not letting the woman in pink know how great I thought she was and how great I thought all of the employees at this particular Chic Filet were. It's better then many 5 Start restaurants. Anyway maybe this review will make it over to the beautiful human in pink. And I hope the employees there know what a difference they make not just in the delicious food but in the way they make people feel. Too many people post reviews that are negative. I wanted to post the truly amazing ones.. Kindness matters. With Love...
Read moreDon't bother with this location I advise you to go somewhere else. I arrived here the other night at 930. The dining room was closed and only the drive thru was open. Unfortunately for me I had cargo on my truck that wouldn't allow me to use it. So I ordered on the app and went to the door and waved one of the employees, she came out to ask me if everything was alright. I told her I couldn't make it through the drive thru and placed my order with the app. She asked my name and I told her and she went back inside. A few minutes later she came to the door with my food. I sat down outside on the patio to eat it real quick. Mind you the restaurant isn't closed. A few minutes go by and two San Diego County sheriff's show up. I tell them the dining room is closed and they would have to use the drive thru. They then ask me what I'm doing there. I then realize they are there for me. After I explain the situation they quickly realize it's a mistake. I see them go inside the restaurant and speak with the employee. I then realized they called the police on me. The cops come out have a chat again and it's all a mistake. Here's the kicker not one employee came out with the police to apologize. NOT ONE. They train their staff to say "My pleasure" but not "Sorry I called the cops on you by accident". After that the cops left and I left. I called the the restaurant the next day. Got ahold of the manager. He basically told me that employees fear for their safety time to time even if it's a mistake. Totally understandable but again were was the apology then? He goes on to apologize and tells me he appreciates my feedback and he's going to reward me some food. I check my Chik Fil A app the next day and he sent me a free Chik Fil A Sandwich. ONE. For being harassed by the police. It seems like Chik Fil A automatically sends me a sandwich like once a month anyway.... I couldn't go to bed til 1 am after being worked up by being harassed by the police. But hey here's a free $4 dollar sandwich... What a joke. Below I've attached the photo of my truck and the cruisers in front of the restaurant.
Updated review... Owner commented below saying there Head of Operations reached out. This is false no one reached out to me. I called the store and they acted like it...
Read moreI would give a 5 for the food and customer service but a 1 when it comes to dining in and listening to the employees while I eat. The employees at this location are ALWAYS friendly and treat customers with respect. The issue I have is after I sit down to eat with my kids, and there’s no customers at the counter ordering, I think the employees forget we’re all in the dining room. They were screaming, talking about taking shots and i could’ve sworn i hear a couple F bombs dropped from the guys in the kitchen. The screaming was the most weird, the employee was playing around obviously, but it was really annoying and disturbed serveral children in the dining room who started to sit up and look back towards the kitchen. It sounded like the guy in the kitchen was pretending to either be in pain or to cry and it was REALLY loud and lasted for about 5 minutes. I understand everyone’s a teenager working here, but keep your voices down when you’re working and watch what you say- children are listening. Next time i’ll probably take it to go or choose somewhere else to take my young children. I almost got up and left this time. The last time I visited, this same thing occurred. This happened on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at about...
