"DINING GONE WRONG: FISH FRAUD AND THREATENING ENVIRONMENT AT @BORDERIO" I went to this disappointing restaurant with a group of American friends to try the acclaimed CALDILLO DE CONGRIO. Unfortunately, the experience quickly spiraled into dismay. The fish, which was supposed to be Congrio, turned out to be something else entirely – and it was semi-frozen! To discover that what we were served was a cheaper, lesser fish instead of the promised Congrio was utterly embarrassing. Additionally, our order for Pisco Sour was replaced with Aguardiente Sour, a disappointing and substandard alternative. The ambiance of the place further dampened our spirits. It was not the family-friendly environment we expected, but rather a setting filled with individuals who looked like gangsters with their bodyguards seated close by. My friends, feeling increasingly uncomfortable, were relieved to accept my suggestion to relocate to a more reputable establishment. The ordeal peaked when we received the bill, which incorrectly charged us for four servings of the fish dish, although we never ordered. Upon raising this issue, a man who claimed to be the owner, and appeared to be under the influence of cocaine, confronted us aggressively. Every dish we tried was a standout, earning a solid 5/5 for both flavor and presentation (we had the Pulmay ceviche, Southern King Crab tacos, goat cheese and shrimp-stuffed empanadas, and breaded shrimp). Of course, we couldn’t miss the desserts—an exquisite chocolate lava cake and a lucuma cake with walnuts, both absolutely delicious!

Se aconseja menos soya para no opacar los sabores de los mariscos. Luego empanaditas fritas(4) de centolla, sabrosas. Se sugiere una masa más delgada. Un caldillo de congrio rico pero necesitaba mayor potencia en el sabor del caldo. Talvés un fumeé más robusto y enjundioso. Luego una corvina un poco seca con una cantidad generosa de mariscos a la que le faltaba ligazón y potencia para ser salsa.. De guarnición, una ensalada verde sin sorpresas.
