小园 — Restaurant in Beijing

Located at base of the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, the Schoolhouse leads the way with sustainability. We stopped here for lunch on our way up to the Great Wall on a gorgeous June day. We had three different types of noodles with delicious toppings while sitting outside on patio. Jim Spear the owner came out and talked to us about his business practices and how he has worked to build up the community that he lives in. I would recommend the Shoolhouse as a stop for a meal any day. We did not stay in a room there but if the rooms are anything like the experience we had for lunch I would have no worries about the quality...

This is now a Thai restaurant called Lotus. Not much vegetarian choice. What we eat was nice. And the restaurant space is cozy has different rooms a couple with big tables (for groups). We sat inside for dinner because it was cold, but they also have a big terrace. We are glad we found it for dinner on our 1 night...
