怀柔长城文化博物馆 — Attraction in Beijing

This is the most popular section if you are in Beijing, just a little over 1 hour from the airport, mostly for foreigners. There are organiced tours, or you can contact one of the many driver services that will take you in the airport and drive you directly there for a 2 hour visit. The part of the wall that is accesible is not too long, enough for a 1 hour visit (more if you take a lot of pictures). You can get up there walking (a lot), or by cable car, definetly worth it because of the views. The way down can be by the same cable car or by a "kart-toboggan". Not possible to take pictures on the toboggan, but funny. I would recommed going in winter becaue the snow makes it even more beautifull, but a low clould could ruin...

Conseils pour profiter pleinement du lieu : -Monter par le téléphérique à la tour 14 pour ensuite marcher vers l'ouest jusqu'au bout de la partie visitable (tour 21). -Revenir en arrière pour descendre à la tour 6 pour descendre en téléphérique ou sinon en toboggan (très fun!) Ainsi vous pouvez profiter pleinement de la balade et voir tout le site.

De plus il est possible d'aller au delà de la tour 20, je le conseille vivement, vous pourrez ainsi voir la partie plus ancienne de la grande muraille et surtout ETRE SEUL car cette partie est un eu plus difficile d'accès. Pour s'y rendre, une fois arrivé à la tour 20 il suffit de passer par dessus le petit mur qui sépare de la suite de la muraille et de continuer jusqu'à la tour 21 puis 22 etc. (Il y avait même un petit marchand sur cette partie normalement non-accessible au public.) Sinon le site est superbe et il y'a relativement peu de gens sur place, ce qui est très agréable...
