Siji Minfu — Restaurant in Beijing

We arrive early on a drizzling Saturday evening after our race at the National Stadium and we did not manage to do any booking prior arrival. We were waiting in queues for about 20 min and was given a table with very attentive staffs and excellent service. Staff were efficient, served with politeness, knowledgeable team restaurant was well organized management. Food was fantastic, with above expectations. Service was quick, food was with high quality and presentation. Peking duck was served on an hot plate in half or whole, which we ordered half so allowing us to try a few of other dishes. There were some free appetizers ie. Grape and sour cucumber for side dishes but it is advisable to order the steamed wraps that come with sides cucumber and melon. Wraps were served on a warm bamboo container that keep them always warm. All in all we had a memorable, fully satisfied beautiful dining experience in Beijing. Highly recommend ! Overall a good experience. I wish I can give 4 and a half stars. Started off a bit rocky, with me finding a piece of plastic/glass (?) in the first tofu dish. What I appreciated was the honesty. After I complained, they investigated. The waiter reported back that it was a piece of plastic from packaging that accidentally fell into the dish. Not great, but a very human mistake. They refunded the dish and gifted a small dessert, which seemed fair.

The duck skin was deliciously crispy. The fennel pancakes and lamb pancakes were both awesome. The squirrel fish was also a favorite at our table, although it was a bit too bland for my taste. The table service was excellent. Our glasses were always full.

The odd thing was the wet wipes they give you at the beginning cost $2 RMB, which they kept...

Their Peking duck is just on another level. They have good Peking duck, and the other dishes are also very good, and it is very nice when eating with rice.
