Local's favourite soup noodle joint, never dissapoints the taste buds! Don't let his hole in the wall style frontage scare you away it is all part of the authentic Guilin mifen (rice noodle) experience. The husband and wife team serves two types of soup noodles: original (三鲜) pork with lettuce sour and spicy (酸辣) which is original with added sour chillies and pickled bamboo shoots As usual there is the choice of round or flat rice noodles; portion size. Portion is based on the Chinese measurement of teal (1 teal = 50g). Usually a standard portion is 2 teal, large portion is 3 teal and extra large is 4 teal.
Soup noodles are cooked to order in batches of spicy/original, thus allow extra waiting time. They also sell fried dough stick ($1ea) which tastes like a lighter version of donut with a crunch, you can eat it as it is or dip it on to the soup.
In terms of extras, you can add an egg to the soup for $1.50; extra meat/veg ( at thr gegotiated price with the owner); free toppings such as shallots, chill, chili oil and pickled snake beans.
During less busy times they also sell fried rice noodles which are not bad either.
Price wise it is about a dollar more expensive than market average but price is justified by quality and quantity of ingredients included.
