My friend and I recently had the pleasure of trying the local hot steel plate steak dinner set at Goteborg Restaurant, and we were thoroughly impressed with our experience. The entire set exuded a sense of tradition, particularly reminiscent of old Hong Kong style cuisine. The dinner set included a delightful array of components, starting with a flavorsome soup that set the tone for the meal. The accompanying bread was fresh and served as a perfect complement to the main course. The star of the show, of course, was the steak cooked on a hot steel plate. The sizzling sound and aroma filled the air, creating an enticing atmosphere. To conclude the meal, a refreshing jelly was served as the dessert. Its light and sweet nature provided a delightful ending to the dining experience. One of the most notable aspects of Goteborg Restaurant is its nostalgic ambiance. The restaurant has managed to recreate the traditional old Hong Kong style, transporting diners back in time. The decor, the atmosphere, and even the attentive service all contribute to the feeling of stepping into a bygone era. It's a place where you can truly appreciate the heritage of Hong Kong's culinary traditions. It's worth mentioning that restaurants like Goteborg are becoming increasingly rare. With the passing of time, many traditional establishments are disappearing, and the unique dining experiences they offer are difficult to replicate. If Goteborg were to close down, it would indeed be a loss, as finding such authentic renditions of old Hong Kong style cuisine would become even more challenging. In conclusion, our experience at Goteborg Restaurant was a memorable one. The local hot steel plate steak dinner set provided a delicious and satisfying meal, while the nostalgic ambiance added an extra layer of charm. If you have an appreciation for traditional Hong Kong cuisine or simply enjoy immersing yourself in a bygone era, Goteborg is a must-visit.

On March 12, 2024, my wife, our younger daughter and I came here for dinner. Days ago, we learned from a TV documentary that the restaurant was closing by end March. As my wife was here before, she was keen to come again and we supported her, although its location was very inconvenient to us. We queued for over an hour and I couldn’t complain as my wife forewarned me that I shouldn’t do so as our younger son and I had once queued outside a Sapporo restaurant for just as long in sub-zero temperatures.

a good night at a good restaurant! i came with friends that can speak canto so be prepared because after ordering they will ask what kind of soup (white or red), what kind of sauce on steak (black pepper or brown), and what kind of drink you want. i also didnt see an english menu either quantity served is filling and the taste did not disappoint! they also give bread with butter as starter and a cold mochi candy with your drink!!

Needless to say with Goteburg’s reputation you go there to eat out of a nostalgia. The 40-year restaurant will be finally closing its doors on March 31 2024. I went there during my high school days, which was itself 30 years ago. But to be fair to them the food is not too bad. I actually found the milk tea to be very good. A wonderful time reminiscing the old days with a high school buddy there. farewell, Goteburg!

A very fast pace restaurant waiters would be expecting you to cop with, they would yell what soup thebmonent you walked in. Was trying to get a steak for lunch but the price is stunning (expensive!) Got the set lunch instead and it was just any other restaurants cheap steak with rice, but the special drink doesn't cost extra though. Check out my photos for price.

Friendly staff, good food, diverse dishes all for a reasonable price. One of the last remaining good, honest traditional Hong Kong style Western restaurants.Best Hong Kong style steakhouse in Hong Kong , period...Go in and try it, nostalgic taste I often pass, but I have never tried it. I have read the food review this time and I want to give it a try.
