Finally on our 3rd visits, we managed to get a table. To make sure you get a table call them a week before as on our 1st walk-in we were told to go back at 2100 which was 3hrs later. The 2nd time my husband called at about 1730 left a message and they called back saying they were fully booked that night. So definitely call them a week before if you really wanted a table especially on public holidays and weekend. So the that's how 4 stars rating above come around.
Food wise it's a 5 stars I should say. We ordered sweet and sour pork, morning glory with shrimp paste, steamed egg with dried scallops and deep fried pig big intestines. I'm not a pig intestines person but it was surprisingly tasty. Would recommend that if you like pig intestines.
The only down side with most restaurants in Hong Kong and with this one is that you can't take your own sweet time to enjoy your dishes. The servers will keep coming to your table to ask you if you have finish the dish whereby they wanted to clear it away desperately. If you put down your chopsticks and start chatting or uses your toothpick, the servers will have the impression that you have finish and will ask if they can clear your table 😅. 3 different servers came to our table to ask if they can clear our dishes and the last one finally came to ask if he can serve us their free dessert 🤔😅. I was just wondering to myself 'but we have not finished!' Anyways, my husband said ok to the dessert and we carried on eating our dishes, of course not in an enjoyable manner as the feeling of eyes on you is really not comfortable at all while you are eating.
Please don't get me wrong, I should say the servers attitude were good. They are all very polite and with a smile on their faces. It's really very typical Hong Kong styled restaurants except these people were polite and courteous! 👍 for...
Read moreCame here a couple weeks ago as was in the area and couldn't find other decent places on Google maps, what a gem! As soon as we turned the corner there were loads of people already queueing outside (didn't help it was peak time 7:30pm on a Saturday) and queued about 1 hour for our table. They were nice to give out a cold crysanthemum tea to help yourself to as it was really hot that evening!
Ordered from the sheet of paper we were given whilst waiting and added a few bits more via scanning a QR code.
Food came out pretty quick and omg the largest lemon tea ever! Only cost $34 and it was a decent one as well. They had speciality dishes too, one being the hand made beef balls with cheese and truffle, this was so good! Everything tasted good apart from the clay pot with pork and other veggies, maybe I wasn't used to the taste but it tasted a bit weird.
Heard they were relocating or something so maybe explains the mass amount of people as well that weekend.
But if it's still open then 100% give this place a visit! The vibes were...
Read moreThe food came shockingly quick! I was provided with a printed English menu which didn’t matter much because you order via the QR code which has an English menu with photos of the dishes. The chicken feet were surprisingly tasty, but have so little meat on them. Be warned they are definitely very spicy for the American palette. The wolfberry/longan tea was delicious. Both the fried pork knuckle and fried shrimp paste patty’s were extremely rich. I ordered a lot of food for just one person and could not finish it all.
The downfall of the whole thing was the ridiculous $500HKD/$65USD credit card minimum. Not very friendly for people just getting in where this wipes out all your cash. I even offered to have them add on a surcharge and they said no. I would never support this business again because of how unfriendly they are to just...
