Located at the junction of Castle Peak Road, Taiwan Bowl has an eye-catching and cute rice as its signature icon. Looking from the outside, I can see that the restaurant is nicely decorated with this cute little rice too!
I went in aiming for some minced pork rice, and was presented with this new menu, which was exactly what I had been craving for — hotpot food! So I ordered the chicken set.
The dinner set also came with an Iced (or hot) Black Tea with Honey.
It wasn’t until I dug in that I realized the waitress mistook my order as beef set instead of the chicken set I want. Never mind, I could do beef too.
The beef was quite chewy, a bit overcooked, probably stayed too long in the hot broth of satay. The satay broth was absolutely delicious that I kept sipping it with the food, and mixed it with the minced pork rice to enjoy it. I was very satisfied with the food inside the hotpot — clams, duck breast, mushroom meatball, chicken & shrimp spring roll wrapped with tofu skin, and glass noodles — all of them were very tasty on their own, and even better with the satay broth.
As for the minced pork rice, I opted for spicy one, and the chili really did work its magic! It was quite hot indeed! The minced pork rice was good, and the satay broth topped up the flavor of it.

Read moreSep 23. It was the first time to be here. Restaurant is under Fairwood Corp (fast food). Therefore, fast food quality was expected as well as the price. The price is reasonable. Location is good. However, the toilet was no tape water to wash our hands. Felt disgusting.
We ordered dinner set, rice with Taiwanese meat sauce. The size of rice would be smaller than $56 rice bowl dinner menu. The sauce was mediocre. The clam soup also. For spring onion pancake, I think supermarket pack do better. The set is $62. Therefore, I think I should consider the CP. Not the food quality alone.
Chicken steak is warm. I think they deep fry and put it aside a while. They offered three types of seasoning powder. Seaweed, shichimi and plum. Nothing I can mention...
Read moreA welcome addition to the neighborhood with their well-executed Taiwanese noodles, which were thick and al dente but required an unusual add-on fee. The spicy soft ribs soup noodles set came with a cold drink and was overall delicious though the addition of their signature 肉燥 in my opinion didn't add much to the flavor. The small dishes set with the duck over tofu and thinly shredded fried beef as well as the non-spicy sauce over the noodles didn't impress as much, but that might work out better next time with a different combination of...
