The Stage Cafe — Restaurant in Sha Tin District

Not a deluxe decorated restaurant but comfortable with friendly services. The lunch price is out of my expectations given it is operated inside CUHK but the food are excellent and deserved a premium. The duck breast, salmon, and parma ham are nice from the salad bar. And the veal is delicious with a good varieties of cakes and fruits. Only the coffee machine is a bit old. As there is a class to be held in the afternoon, we have to leave at around 2 pm. It would be much better if we can start earlier to maximize the food gains. Reservation is required and only alumni , students or staffs...

Don’t mix up this cozy cafe with the gastronomy club, which locates on 5/F. The latter one is exclusively for registered members and opens during 1200-1400. The Stage opens for longer hours.It is also a perfect place for students and visitors to boost themselves up with acceptable lunch sets and coffee, their price range is a bit lower than the chained coffee shops. Recommend its pork rice and pasta lunch sets, which are their daily menus. There are no afternoon tea set after 1400 but it will serve some snacks such as curry fish balls. It will...

3 stars as the food is good for CUHK, but if it were anywhere else would receive 1-2.

Pricing is a bit weird - who would pay 10 HKD to add cheese or tomatoes to a burger? 5 HKD would be much more reasonable.

They were selling big cups of juice for 15 HKD or you could get juice with a burger for 10 HKD - presumed it would be a discount but instead got a tiny cup. Would have preferred to pay 15 HKD for a big one!!...
