Super value for money.
Had a curry ox tongue lunch set there. It came with soup, rice, Naan, French fries, vegetables, and a drink for hkd48.
The curry was great with a little spicy. Nice. The ox tongue was so tender. Amazing. I wish it had a larger portion.
The soup, naan, and rice were good too.
Two critics, though.
I ordered Indian tea when I placed my lunch order, but apparently the waitress missed it. They brought me the tea afterwards but it was not prepared in front of me. In fact, I saw that they prepared the Indian tea in front of the other customers. 😑 The Indian tea cost me an extra hkd12.
All vegetables were sold out, so I had two side dishes of French fries in my set lunch. I prefer vegetables more.😑
The vibe was nice. Clean and tidy with natural sunlight.
2nd visit
Picked curry mutton lunch set (an extra hkd14) and a cup of Indian tea.
This time, the Indian tea was prepared in front of me. 😄 Taste good, too. The curry was a bit salty for me, and the mutton was a bit dry. The others are more or less the same....
Read moreIt’s my first time eating in an Indian restaurant in HK and I expected good stuff.
I ordered a set for three persons at dinner time. Ox tongue, fish and lamb curries. First of all, the price isn’t cheap about 100hkd per person. The portion of the curry was also smaller than I expected. Most importantly, I was not satisfied with the taste of the food. The fish, lamb and ox tongue were not very tasty and the curry was not spicy. I was disappointed that they used jasmine rice that locals usually eat instead of proper Indian rice. Chicken tikka was the most disappointing of all, it’s bland and very dry. The naan was okay I guess.
It’s not a satisfactory experience for me, I am disappointed about the food and the fact that their dishes are tailored for the tastes of local people, because I wanted to try real authentic Indian food! I was thinking of giving it three stars, but then I realise that I could get a similar curry in cafe de carol or fairwood for almost half the price. It’s sad but I can only give it two stars, for being too...
Read moreThis place has great vegetarian options and friendly service. My family and I got here about 6 pm on a Sunday night and the place was pretty empty but by the time we left there was a small wait outside. The 1 meter tea was nice which was like a chai almost but some Indian blend milk tea from what the server told us. Seating was comfortable inside and decor was simple.
The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because the beef spinach curry had fatty beef. If you are picky about the meat you eat, I would not recommend a...
