I’ve eaten here maybe twenty years ago. My friends who live in the area enthusiastically took me here. They rant and raved about how tasty their noodles were. It’s been in business for very long and gain local fame. It is the third generation owner I think. In the old days this store follows the cart noodle tradition by cooking your noodles and ensemble your order in front of you. They showcase all the topping choices in the glass counter so you can pick the ones you like. They have small storefront and people queue up just to eat there. To be honest I don’t remember much about the taste (which speaks a lot) other than it is nothing special and was expensive compared to other cart noodles at the time. I remember I kind of roll my eyes at my friend. So fast forward to 2025. My sister is back from UK and of course she has to go relive her local culinary memories. We walked by the store after a long shopping day. The store has doubled its size and looks more like a fast food shop than anything else. Since she hasn’t had cart noodles for a very long time and with fond memories of their special sauce, she wants to eat there again. We were also attracted by the pictures of their pig knuckle at the storefront. It was maybe 9:17. Noodle shops usually close late in Hong Kong. We ordered Pig’s knuckle with one Lo mien(dry noodles with soup on side) and one soup noodles. We picked Daikon, pig skin and stew beef tendon as sides as you must choose a min of three ingredients. We also say yes to the spicy stew intestine sauce (I know it sounds weird or maybe even yucky but hey you gotta try in order to know right?) which is suppose to give them their fame. Then we ordered vegetables and red bean drink on the side. It was 9:20 by the time we placed the order and paid. Like I said the store looks like a fast food shop with a counter and doesn’t cook in front of you anymore. We got our food maybe in five to ten mins. So by the time we sit down to eat it was close to 9:30. We were into our first few bites and the staff came and told us we have to leave by 9:50. 😳!? I just got my food and can’t pour it down my throat! I gotta chew so I don’t get a stomach ate or choked to death right? I was pretty upset by then but I still try to be civilised. I suggested if I can have our veggies and drinks to go then maybe we can quickly wolf down our food before they close (although eating a bowl of steamy noodles in 20 mins is kind of impossible for me). The staff gave me the most ridiculous answer that I could imagine. Yes you can but I will charge you for the take away boxes and cups 😳. Um…. Hello? I offered to take my food home so I don’t delay your closing time. If you have the decency to tell me before I pay ‘Hey we are closing in 30 mins and you only have 20 mins to eat’ I would have said forget it. So I said no thank you and just continue to eat at a normal pace. I offered. We didn’t take our time if you might ask. We ate at a brisk pace but not forcing ourselves. The staff were not happy and they keep harassing us by sweeping around our feet and trying to take our bowls every time we pause to take a breath. We hurried and finished our food around 9:55. We were treated by harsh impolite looks and ‘Go out that door!!! This one is closed!’ Geez! So final word… food is mediocre but what really drives people away is the attitude of your staff. My sister was a fan. Not anymore! I’m wondering if original grandpa owner is turning...

the broth contains a slight bitterness which has enriched the sweetness. Nice👍combination. Successfully presented a brith with different layers the spicy🌶sauce is quite hot, with a bit bitterness. Exciting but won't make you uncomfortable. Quite good😊 Surprised that the Chicken🐔wings contain a strong Chicken🐔Oil Flavor the beancurd balls have strong beancurb flavor and served in an appreciate chewy texture. Never saw something like this in other restos. A nice try Chicken🐔kidney was too hard Half-boiled Egg🥚was not marinated in any sauce. Even eating it with the Broth and Spicy🌶Sauce, still taste blend

Read morebeen their customer since childhood. Seeing them change from "store" mood to the current automatic mood. The nowaday Wing Lin is very different from the past. But it is a change for good, looks cleaner, more decent, and with air conditioning❗ what doesn't change are the taste and the shout out of "抄牌" (traffic warden) 🤣🤣🤣
Recommend: radish, chitterling, blood pudding, flat egg noodles. The spicy source used to be very hot (my childhood memories), so I ordered minimal level this time and it is not as hot as I think (maybe my tolerance for spicy food has improved 😅 )
Update (2021.April): it has reopened after renovation to align with the interior design of...
