Café Quindío Gourmet — Restaurant in Armenia

This place was a huge disappointment. The exterior and interior of the cafe is beautiful however there’s no AC so it’s hot humid and nasty the entire time. Also their frozen coffee (granizados) was horrible!! We were a group of 7 and 6 of us agreed that the granizados from this place were no good!! It wasn’t creamy as they’re supposed to be and how they are at other Cafe Quindíos. I don’t know if it was just a bad day in which maybe their machines weren’t working properly or a staff member forgot to add milk to the granizado machine but yes it was horrible and a waste of money and time on our part. The service was subpar extremely slow and waiting forever trying to get ahold of the waiter who was not the friendliest, so we could pay to leave. Had a very strange experience there. Ordered a coffee with caramel and when I finally (it took way too long for a coffee, given that I was the only one there and they had two people behind the bar) got my coffee, I almost spit out my first sip - instead of caramel I had gotten amaretto. (I speak Spanish, so that wasn’t the issue) well, I know things like that might happen, but the way they handled it was really sad. When I told them, they were like “oh claro”. Not even once acknowledging or apologizing! To the point that I got confused about the whole situation and just wanted my regular cappuccino and left. (They didn’t even offer any kind of discount. This was a very nice dining experience. The restaurant was beautiful and had a relaxing and calming atmosphere. We ordered the Fiambre Quindiano; it was absolutely delicious. Our limonada hierba buena was less sweet and less lemon flavored, with a more natural flavor of the hierba buena. Lastly our dessert, which was a bread pudding was very good as was the coffee. The menu is outstanding and offers a wide selection of appetizers, salads, main dishes, desserts, drinks and coffee. Our server, James was very attentive and professional.
