La Fogata — Restaurant in Armenia

Disappointed to have had a very different dining experience this past February, as compared to previous visits in the past 2.5 years. Party of 7 this time, included 2 first time visitors. All of us were dissatisfied and very disappointed at the way the manager handled my personal experience with my steak dish. The "special" cut was 75% fat, making it impossible to eat. Very tough meat also! When the waiter was made aware, he proceeded to take it to the kitchen to show that, indeed, the cut was mainly fat. He came back, apologized, and told me that unfortunately they would not take it back. I asked to speak to the manager who came after a few minutes wait. She had a very unfriendly tone, indicating that even the best cuts sometimes come like mine, so there was nothing she would do. Needless to say, my entire party was appalled at the response!! I mentioned we were repeate customers for more than 2 years, and that every time we traveled from Florida to visit Armenia, we made it a point to dine there. (My brother and I have apartments in Armenia and we travel with family and friends frequently). The fact that she showed absolutely no consideration, nor offered an apology for my dissatisfying experience, completely sealed the deal for all of us!!! Never again will we dine at La Fogata! It was cleared that she could care less if we went back. So, we continue to travel to Armenia, bringing our business to other restaurants where "customers" are valued and most certainly...

The food here although EXTREMELY expensive was good for the most part. This is one of those restaurants that is expensive so people think it is great. Not the case. Price is 4 times higher then other restaurants in Armenia, Simon Simon & Boludos are more reasonable and food is better. My issue here was we ordered an appetizer, soup and steak. It was brought all at the same time, ridiculous. Steak got cold while having the soup. It was full so obviously they were rushing people in and out so service sucked big time. When we were done my wife wanted desert didnt even offer, rushed us out no thank you nothing! I would recommend Boludos or Simon Simon. This place needs to be conscious about service it is...

I had a decent but uninspired plate of baked chicken slices with a slight spicy sauce having Asian flavors. A small portion of baked potatoes and a baked fruit completed the plate. An attractive presentation. This and two beers brought a bill of about $13 u.s. Service was good, English service was available. A very professional operation.
