Restaurante Las Palmas — Restaurant in Envigado

We are from Toronto, Canada and Las Vegas, USA. The staff was exceptional! Every staff member came together to assist us with my mom in a wheelchair, it was unbelievable their kindness. They were two guys, one the waiter, and the other I think the manager. They were so friendly, had fun with translation from Spanish to English. They brought us dishes to try that we did not order, got us dessert although they don't serve this on their menu, took pictures, came around to make sure everything is good - just above and beyond service. It was raining at time of departure, the waiter, manager, and another guy got two taxis, made sure we had the correct amount for the taxis, assisted with my mom to the taxi and covered us with their umbrellas, unbelievable!! This made our experience most enjoyable and will definitely be back next time in Medellin. Extremely delicious Sancocho de Bagre (a kind of catfish stew) served with fresh avocado and super nice ají. Arepas are homemade and fresh (usually hot, but sometimes just warm). I would steer clear of some of the more hardcore items like oreja sudado (pressure cooked pig’s ear) unless you know what you’re getting yourself info. The hígado a la criolla (liver and onions) is really nice, as is the sobrebarriga (a huge steak syle serving of the meat they traditionally use in empanadas) and the pollo a la plancha al limon is great. Great great food establishment in the heart of Envigados food district. The food was in our table with in 12 minutes and the servers were on point with quickness and motivated to bring out more and more food. The drinks and beer were great and for good prices. A child and his dad played tunes on a piojo outside in the sidewalk for people to enjoy a good time with sounds.
