The place is very big and got 2 big terrasses. The food and drinks I had were very tasteful. Nevertheless little things can be improved. First I didn't felt very welcomed by the waitress, the juice was served in a small glass compared to other places. The pastry they offer looks very healthy and is sold as vegan. But none of them is sugar-free, therefore not healthy at all. The wifi is super bad, couldn't watch a YouTube video. UPDATE: The second time I came with a big group of people. The staff refused us to pay separately. All other restaurants are flexible and just do their best. At this place they kept to their policies and even when I told them that we would write appropriate reviews they just said go ahead, we don't mind. This is a very unfriendly and unprofessional behavior. I don't understand their arrogant mindset especially if a restaurant doesn't care if their customers are happy and don't want to return. After my review they even got rude and insulting. They would be more than better off taking criticism for improving their service. Sorry but this not Pura vida. Only 1 star for this mindset.

Best Vegetarian restaurant hands down in Santa Teresa I tried a lot of things on the menu all packed with so much flavor! Also do Brunch on Sundays. They have an amazing market as well that sells some of the best gluten free deserts of ever tried must try gluten free chocolate cake fluffy and not too sweet. Can’t forget about there cold pressed juices you can buy ones with alcohol or without amazing blends to choose from try the Jalapeño Margarita wow!! I met the owner while there a delightful woman named Sharon she was from Scotland I believe. Do yourself a favor and check this place out you won’t regret!!! Very friendly staff as well exceptional for Costa Rica!!

I was staying right by the place while I was in Santa Teresa. Every time I passed by it seemed like it was busy. The ambiance and decor was very nice and bohemian. I liked the passion mango mojitos, the shrimp and the yucca fries but I didn't like the tuna poke bowl at all my waiter recommended. I probably should've just stuck with what I knew instead of trying something different. It was also kinda pricey for what I got, even with the drinks being on special. I didn't end up going back after the first time but again, it seemed to be a very popular place with the tourists. Saw lots of Americans eating here.

I’m writing this review as a follow up from the review previous to mine. My girlfriends and I have been travelling Costa Rica and were craving something different to eat! After seeing a picture of the Indian platter at Drift Bar, we grew super excited to have a taste of one of our favourite cuisines. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted and seated - and quickly ordered as we were starving from a long day on the beach.

The juices were excellent! Sadly the rest of the food was bland and subpar. The ‘crostini’ was simply breadsticks with 3 very small bowls of dip. As all 3 of us have worked in service - we decided against complaining and happily ate the bread (some pieces without spread as there was not enough).

The Indian platter was unfortunately extremely underwhelming. Since we did not receive a follow up to ask how the food was - we had to get up to get salt, and wave down a waiter for hot sauce. Typically I don’t need to add salt or hot sauce to Indian food.

As the owner mentioned to Jasmine below, we did have an employee check on us - at the end of our meal to ask if he could clear the plate. Granted, we did arrive at 8:30 (the restaurant closes at 10) but we ordered and ate in a timely manner. This however doesn’t excuse the fact that the last 20 minutes of our visit felt extremely rushed. Upon departure a cockroach landed on the table, which I flung off. I departed to quickly go to a bakery to get a dessert (everything closes at 10) since we were so disappointed in our meal. My friends stayed back to pay & saw more cockroaches. I realize we’re dining outside but this was the first time in our travels in Costa Rica to see cockroaches at a restaurant so we were definitely surprised.

Sharon, my friends review was not scathing. It was a reaction to an extremely disappointing dining experience. You should be able to hear us discussing how bland everything was on your footage. As far as your comment about us potentially contributing to someone losing their job...that would be bizarre to terminate an employee off a single negative review. I hope your staff are treated fairly.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Drift Bar, but maybe some of the other food is more flavourful/better executed. Apparently the cocktails are...

Just got home from dinner at drift bar and all 7 of us are stuffed and happy! When we pulled Into the parking lot we were a little nervous... it was empty... which can sometime be a bad sign. We stuck with the plan though and ordered drinks and dinner. We were Also excited to see the case full of vegan and gluten-free desserts. I had a watermelon margarita. I’m not usually a huge cocktail fan, but this drink was awesome! Then the Spring roll appetizer arrived... they were the best fresh rolls any of us had had in a long time. Everyone agreed... the main courses were also all exceptional. Great flavors, quality ingredients, ample portions. While the service wasn’t white glove, all of our servers were genuinely kind, fun, informative and amazingly upbeat. They were great with our kids and responded to all of our requests quickly. And then the desserts... they did not disappoint! Overall, 6 entrees, several drinks and appetizers, and a bunch of desserts all for about $120 US. A very good deal for the quality and quantity that we received. Also, the dining area was set far off the road, which was a nice change of pace in ST. Sometimes the incessant dust exhaust and noise from the road can get tiring. Drift bar gave a nice respite from all of...
