Cafe Anka — Restaurant in Curridabat

A place that can make you feel like having a tea party and travel to Russia? Look no further, in Anka they share beautifully plated russian & caucasian delicacies.

Since the renovation the place has a lovely terrace, however I prefer the cozy, lovely decorated inside area. The lunch menu sounds amazing, however I love this place for coffee/tea time, all I've tried is always fresh and tasty.

For salty I tried the Pirozhki (potato is the best), and the Japachuri which can be shared and is very filling for an early dinner.

For my favorites, the sweets, the Napoleon was perfect balance of sweet and fresh, the Medok was a nice surprise, the honey definitely made the difference.

It’s like tasting the food of your Russian grandmother in middle of the cold winter! Warm and comforting food for the soul! I would recommend this place eyes closed hands down to anyone! Can’t wait to try all that they have on the menu. The place is so beautiful, perfect for a coffee date or dinner date with an old friend or your lover. They are pet friendly as well! Made us feel welcome! My only feedback is that the place was crowded and they only had 1 person attending the cafe so I took a while for the food to come and they forgot one dessert we ordered. But the food is so good I forgive you! On the pictures you will see a delicious heavenly dessert made of honey and an entree of cheese with spinach that was mindblowing!

Siempre habíamos visto esta cafetería ya que mi cuñada vive en unos apartamentos a la par y nos había llamado la atención, ayer fuimos y nos dimos cuenta que es comida rusa tradicional, el mesero es muy amable y servicial y le explica a uno que es cada cosa, la atmósfera es muy linda y con muchas cosas muy tradicionales, varias personas del personal si son de Rusia entonces uno se puede asegurar de que la comida es auténtica rusa o del este de Europa/Asia.

Pedimos una entrada de Varenyky que son unos dumplings ucranianos rellenos de queso con natilla y una mermelada que estaban muy ricos y muy ligeros cabe destacar que el mesero nos dijo que venían 5 pero nos dieron 6 para poder compartirlos mejor. De plato fuerte pedimos Blini de pollo y un khachapuri kubdari(cordero) ambos estaban muy ricos los de cordero venían con un sabor especifico a hierbas que los hacían muy diferentes.

Para el postre pedimos un entremet de chocolate blanco con mora que la vdd también estaba delicioso, con una textura muy cremosa y una combinación de sabores excelentes.

Tienen una bebida que es limonada con lavanda que vale muchísimo la pena probarla, huele y sabe bastante a lavanda pero es demasiado rica.

Lo único que tienen es que no hay mucho parqueo pero a la vuelta uno puede dejar el carro sin problema que no le vaya a pasar nada y que no vaya a...
