Pupusería Doña Aide — Restaurant in Liberia

I’m so happy we found this place! Luckily we found it by an internet search because it would be very easy to walk by and not notice it. It’s tucked in the middle of some mechanic shops and very easy to miss. Definitely worth finding!! The pupusas were really delicious, the two ladies were very nice and the flan was amazing! Very authentic Salvadorian food. Our 15 month old daughter loved everything about the place, and the food. We’ll definitely go back to this hidden gem next time we’re in the area. A lovely spot for lunch. I was welcomed with a big smile. They have an English menu. There isn’t a ton of seating. Maybe enough for 8 people in total.

I tried to speak Spanish and they were encouraging and happy whenever I tried. I got an Argentinian pupusas with the coconut flan. The hot sauces are great here too. I spent about 6,000 CRC which is a great deal for a modest lunch and desert....

Sopa Negra!! The definition of a whole in a wall and home made food. Sopa Negra is my favorite and the pupusas are by far, the best I’ve had here in Costa Rica. Nothing beats the street vendors in El Salvador, but this is our new favorite stop.

Don’t get put off by the surroundings, it really is worth a try.
