Republica Casa Cervecera - San Pedro — Restaurant in Mercedes

Regarding their artisanal beer, it’s definitely not the best I’ve tried but it’s ok, given you love the taste of lúpulos. However, their food is waaaay overpriced and so not worth it. We got some burgers, 8900 colones (way over market price), they came out cold like an hour after ordering, poorly seasoned and mine with a terrible dominant rosemary taste. The staff was really nice but they were so overwhelmed they were pretty inefficient, which is interesting given the 75% use of the space, imagine a Friday night with 100%. El lugar solía ser bueno pero desde hace ya varios años no lo es más. República solía tener su propio maestro cervecero y hacer buena cerveza de la casa. Solía tener un menú bueno. Solía tener buen servicio. Solía ser un lugar que uno recomendaba con confianza.

Visité República Rotonda La Badera en septiembre 2025 y me topé con que el parqueo del centro comercial Plaza Carolina no se puede usar si uno viene para República pues parece ser que tienen una disputa con el administrador del centro comercial. Como es de imaginar, el parqueo disponible frente al restaurante solo alcanza para unos 20 vehículos y no dan a basto. Según comentarios: República se niega a pagar el servicio de vigilancia y seguridad y por eso Plaza Carolina no le da acceso al resto del parqueo. Si, lo sé, ridículo.

Por otro lado, mesas sucias por más de 20 minutos habla muy mal del servicio. Te sirven botella de Imperial (350 mL) en vaso cañita, es decir, no más de 230 mL, la cerveza no cabe... Y se hacen llamar República Cervecera... Las luces en la terraza están mal, parpadean constantemente y se vuelve molesto. Los precios son caros y no se justifican ni por la calidad ni por el sabor, los platos son de sabor mediocre y las cervezas... pues nada, las cervezas no son nada del otro mundo, no se justifica el...

I went to watch Argentina vs Mexico, they only had 2 or 3 waiters and the place was full.
