There is no way this place actually gets any 5 stars. It's not really a tourist spot just a roundabout under an overpass. I'm not sure why they are trying to promote this spot. There is nowhere to park as it's literally a busy highway roundabout. The fountain is apparently on only when some kind of event takes place they deem important enough to turn it on. It unfortunately is run down and not worth driving to see unless you are already stuck there in traffic. I've been told to come here to wash my butt. Thank goodness that I haven't needed to yet.
Most of the time the fountain is off. I wouldn't want that water to get in my eyes or mouth if, for any psychotic reason, the country decides to turn it on again. La fuente de la Hispanidad se ha convertido en todo un referente para la celebración de los eventos sociales costarricenses, especialmente aquellos eventos donde el pueblo se vuelca de lleno en festejar las alegrías de la nación, con la música y baile que tanto les caracteriza.
Esta fuente es una de las estructuras más contemporáneas de San José. Su estructura se compone de tres tubos de diferentes tamaños, los cuales se complementan entre sí cuando el agua sale de ellos. Además, la fuente posee un sistema de sensores de luces led con las que podrás deleitarte de un verdadero espectáculo nocturno.
La fuente de la Hispanidad fue construida sobre una rotonda, donde se mantiene las zonas verdes en perfecto equilibrio con la fuente. La fuente se construyó sobre 1988 en el este de la ciudad costarricense.
Es un punto de referencia desde hace años y punto de celebración cuando ganamos algún partido de fútbol a nivel internacional o a nivel nacional.
Se han agregado luces a las torres de agua y se han remodelado con el tiempo.
