The food at 10 Pies was very well done. I came by during lunch with a friend and ordered the "10 Pies grilled sandwich" and it was okay, the fries they made were heaven. The service was not the best, considering the long wait for the check even after they had taken our food from the table. The manager greated us as we left and asked us how the meal was, and ofcourse we said it was great.
We came back to Nosara a few days later for and tried it for dinner. I ordered the "Buffalo Wing Sandwich" and it was really good. my friend ordered the "10 Pies Pizza" and liked it a lot as well. It was a busy, but again the service was not good. The same two costa-rican waitresses were there, but they were not very nice, even though we always smiled and thanked them for everything. The waitresses were not trying to be friendly and avoided eye contact every time they walked through the dining areas. We were trying to get a check for atleast 15 minutes, and i noticed how one of the waitresses obviously ignored me as i said "excuse me" mutliple times while she walked by. We also noticed a new customer being ignored for a good 5 minutes. he had to walk up to and stop a waitress just so he could be acknowledged. not sure if they are trained to keep people there longer, or are shy to talk to customers, but it definitely made the experience not as good.
Overall... Great food, Great Drinks (though they should add liquor drinks to the menu they pass out, or a separate drinks menu), and bad...
Read moreBEWARE of the billing scam!
I live in Nosara and have been frequenting 10 Pies for some time. I love the food, the staff is always helpful and at their best, and its somewhat affordable for town.
One day though, I didn't order much and I noticed my bill was unusually high. I looked closely and figured out a very disappointing and deceptive thing that 10 Pies is "knowingly" doing.
The menu is in dollars, but when they ring you up they charge you in colones, then CONVERT the bill to dollars. They are using a conversion rate of 591 colones per dollar. The exchange rate hasn't been that low since SUMMER OF 2020 and has averaged over 650 colones/dollar in 2022 and currently sits at 684 colones/dollar on todays date of 22/5/2022.
That means every customer is being bilked out close to 15% (as of todays date) deceptively. Every single customer. The disrespect, and contempt, that shows for customers is really sad.
I confronted the staff about it. They know it. They are completely aware of it. And they do nothing because the Owner is in charge and it's his doing.
Think about that when you want to patronize a place. This Owner has a contempt for the customer and is basically stealing from them.
I still have to give it a star for the...
Read moreFun open air atmosphere. Kid friendly menu. We ate dinner there twice because we enjoyed it so much. If you have a large party they have really fun couch tables with a swing too. Careful your children will be extremely excited about this! It looks like a jungle gym to them. Favorite dish is definitely the fish tacos. Also really enjoyed the Hawaiian poke and the shrimp pizza. Definitely the Best blonde ale in Nosara - not sure of the brewer! They also have this tasty ginger wine if you’re up for something a little different.
Other things to note: There is a open outdoor shower if you’re coming straight from the beach you can rinse off. Pets are welcome as long as they are on a leash. They convert the bill to American dollars for...
