Food does taste Caribbean. You don't need to go to Limón to have a good Caribbean chicken, a great Rice & Beans, or great seafood. Just getting in you are transported to Puerto Viejo. An old house, very typical ( perhaps the only downside here, as it does need some work and refresh ). The house is not well maintained and the barhrooms could use some urgent freshing up and better and more frequent cleaning schedules.
The attention is almost immediate, even on Sunday afternoon and with a fairly crowded place.
We were received with a small courtesy ( 4 green fried plantain snacks ).
After that, the main courses were great. All of the main dishes come with salad and the always expected Rice & Beans.
My wife had some very good Shrimp while I was well entertained with a traditional Caribbean chicken and a local beer.
Unfortunately we were not able to try any of the desserts, as they did have some, and some others would required some waiting time.

As a minority business owner myself, and with Caribbean roots, I recognize the need to help support other minority businesses. At dinner, I sat at a table by myself, and was notably the only black patron in the restaurant. There were about 4 other tables occipied by other patrons. The owner of the establishment, appeared and visited every other table but mine, to enquire on how their experience was going, and continued to do so even as other groups of patrons entered and dined. It was nothing short of insulting and showed a total lack of appreciation for my patronage, but I guess if my patronage is taken for granted, I don't need to support this business.
