Recently, I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Costa Rica Beach Restaurant—a charming seaside spot that left an indelible impression on me with its refreshing flavors, tropical ambiance, and exceptional hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that perfectly captured the essence of a laid-back Costa Rican morning: breezy, inviting, and infused with the vibrant spirit of the coast.
The ambiance was thoughtfully designed, with sunlit spaces, coastal decor, and the gentle sound of ocean waves in the background, creating a soothing yet uplifting mood. Every detail, from the seaside art to the comfortable seating with views of the sparkling water, set the stage for a delightful breakfast experience.
As I settled into my seat, I was greeted by a friendly host named Genesis, whose warm smile and courteous demeanor immediately set the tone for the morning. Genesis took the time to explain the menu, highlighting the restaurant’s signature breakfast dishes and sharing interesting tidbits about the fresh, locally sourced ingredients and tropical inspirations behind them.
Throughout the meal, Genesis’s attentive service elevated the experience to another level. When I inquired about the preparation of a refreshing tropical smoothie bowl, he patiently described the balance of flavors, assuring me that each dish was crafted to deliver a harmonious blend of sweetness, tang, and natural freshness. His recommendations were spot on—each dish I sampled was a delightful revelation of texture and taste.
The starters, bursting with vibrant colors and crisp freshness, were a perfect prelude to the hearty breakfast dishes that followed. One standout dish was the tropical pancakes—light and fluffy, topped with fresh banana slices and a drizzle of homemade passion fruit syrup, offering a perfect balance of sweet and tangy notes. Equally memorable was the traditional gallo pinto, a Costa Rican staple where every spoonful showcased a harmonious blend of rice, beans, and savory spices, capturing the true essence of local morning fare.
Genesis’s personal touch shone through not only in his culinary recommendations but also in the way he engaged with each guest. When I mentioned it was my first time trying several of the restaurant's signature breakfast items, he eagerly shared stories about his own experiences with coastal cuisine, recounting tales of cherished morning rituals and recipes passed down through generations. This level of care and connection made my morning all the more special.
The service was impeccable throughout the visit—each dish was served with perfect timing, allowing me to savor every bite without feeling rushed. The entire staff worked in seamless harmony, ensuring that every need was met and every question answered with genuine warmth.
In conclusion, my visit to Costa Rica Beach Restaurant was an experience to be cherished. The combination of delightful breakfast fare, a relaxing coastal ambiance, and the exceptional service provided by Genesis made for a morning that surpassed all expectations. I left with not only a satisfied palate but also a heart warmed by genuine hospitality—a beautiful reminder of how a good meal can bring people together. If you ever have the chance to start your day here, be sure to ask for Genesis; his expertise and friendly nature will transform your breakfast into an unforgettable...
Read moreWe were grateful to have this restaurant near our AirBNB and it’s right AT the beach, so a perfect spot before/during/after a beach day in Playa Hermosa. We went for lunch and thought the snack menu was very delicious! Fish tacos and wings… 🤤. Plus the view and we had great service! Some of the other reviews are not quite fair. The prices are less than the average restaurant in the area, but the menu is in dollars and not colones so people may think it’s more expensive when it’s not. The speed of service was relaxed which is typical for Costa Rica. We even went back again!! We posted menus because it seemed to be needed online....

This place has a great happy hour and you can have drinks in their (very cute) space or take them to the beach. Amazing margaritas and pina coladas! Great servers as well.

Highly recommend for drinks, not a big...
