Gorgeous place, good cocktails(they need a cocktail menu though), unique cuisine.
A hidden gem in Tamarindo, but a warning for gluten-free and celiac patrons.
Their menu has items labeled gluten-free and I told the waiter I was gluten free. They put wheat noodles as a decoration on my food, and served my spring rolls with a sauce with soy sauce(wheat).
I started swelling up and getting flushed and quickly realized something was not right. It's been nearly 11 years since I have had gluten fed to me and it was disappointing it was in this beautiful place. The menu said (G) for gluten free and I told the waiter and still I was "glutened".
They were kind and understanding and comped not only my food and drinks, but the whole table. I could tell they felt bad.

We were very impress with the quality and flavors of the food. Everything we order was very fresh and well presented . We started with an ocean potion seafood soup and it was very good we love it then we had the Costa Rican trout it was very fresh and the flavor was amazing same as the tuna steak. We also try the passion fruit mouse and i absolute love it , it comes with a shot of wine . The ambience at barefoot was very romantic and the service was very good , the waiters were very friendly We had a great anniversary dinner.
