Sharky’s Sports Bar — Restaurant in Tamarindo

Extremely unpleasant experience with the staff. One of the bartenders—the larger man with bald spots and an uneven beard—was especially aggressive. I simply asked for a drink and was met with a surprisingly hostile reaction. Maybe he was having a bad day, missed a meal perhaps, but such behavior is unacceptable in a customer service role.

As the only Hispanic person at the bar, I couldn’t help but notice the stark contrast in how he treated me compared to white patrons. He even played Billy Joel for them, while I was met with hostility, rude gestures, and the Apple Pay machine practically tossed at me.

It was deeply disappointing and made me reflect on how sometimes, unfortunately, we’re mistreated by our own community. I truly hope the management considers proper training and emotional regulation for their staff, because this didn’t feel like a professional—or even human—interaction, they should vaccinate their staff...

Went to this place and it will be my last. Went here with 3 friends, we’re from New Jersey. For whatever reason this security guard with a pony tail kept harrasing us all night. He wouldn’t stop staring at us kept coming by us taking our cups even if we weren’t finished. I was standing all night I finally sat down and I wasn’t in the chair for a minute when they came took the tables and chairs. Very bad service at this place. I don’t know whats was wrong with them if we did something or what. Will never return I regret having spent money at this place. Whatever you do stay clear of it. Ive been to Tamarindo a bunch of times and can tell you there are other places that treat you nicer and will bend over backwards for your money. This place itself is nice and fun but that guard ruined our night. I didn’t give it 0 stars because I had to pick one just to write the review but honestly this place deserves 0 stars...

My best friends and I came in to celebrate my birthday and we were greeted with a hostile welcome. We headed to the bar and waited a total of 20 minutes to order drinks while the young bartender with the glasses was pouring shots of don julio into the girls’ mouths who were next to us (who came after us) and to top it off…… he literally reached over from behind the bar and pushed my friend to the side without saying anything? We weren’t even sure if she was in the way of anything either. We work in the service industry and understand that it may not have been personal and we aren’t from here so we aren’t familiar faces, but we were genuinely super excited to come to this bar and have a great time, + expected some decency.
