La Vida Buena — Restaurant in Veintisiete de Abril

We discovered this location three days ago walking from Playa Avellanas... about 45 minutes on foot, 10 minutes in a car. We have now eaten here twice because the Casado plates call to us. The menu is large & very diverse. There is something for everyone here even the most picky of eaters will be happy with the food selection. The atmosphere is exactly the Pura Vida way Two plates of food & four beers will cost you about $25-$30 in equivalents to USD Food tax & tip included in the prices listed on menu

It’s… decent, and considering there is literally nothing else around, it’s a good bet to get some alright food for okay prices.

Pizza Supremo was good and very big, but a little undercooked. Arroz con mariscos was a very big portion aswell, but quite underwhelming as there was sand in the food from the conchas, and overall the seafood was not fresh.

nice outside seating, but the service was pretty disappointing, waiter forgot our order, didn’t say almost anything and the entire time was acting like we were bothering him or something. pretty surprising behaviour when they charge you 13% for service.

Not terrible dining experience but one of the worst we had so far...

Pizza was decent for Central America. Crust overdone and burnt and toppings sliding off the (only okay) pizza sauce, however the service was attentive, Pina Coladas were bitchin (and strong) and the ceviche, as far as ceviche outside of Peru, was pretty damn good.

Service was attentive, locals friendly and talkative, basketball and surfing were on TV and comfort level under the productive ceiling fan was pleasant. The dogs wandering the place were pretty adorable too. I'd go back for sure. Beer was ice cold, prices fair for the area.

Don't expect miracles off a dirt road in an un-airconditioned place in the middle of nowhere and you certainly won't be...
