Il Secondo — Restaurant in City of Zagreb

Unfriendly place for senior guests with unfriendly staff. Restauraunt was empty and senior gest ( 84 ) accompanied with 1 person asked for table for 4 people and she was rejected. Senior guest asked for bigger table because of wider personal space needed for coordination of movements. Senior guest was rejected by chief of staff in Il Secondo restaurant and was given table for 2 only. In that moment in that place made for 60 or 70 guests there were only 8 people. As it was prime lunch time guests and customers kept slowly coming to the restaurant.

At the end of senior person lunch there were 6 empty tables for 4 people left.

This restaraunt is expensive, with rude and shamefull staff, unfriendly place with average food.

U praznom restoranu sa vise od 6 praznih stolova za 4 osobe nisu željeli dati stol za 4 osobe gošći 3. životne dobi nego su inzistirali na stolu za 2 osobe. Gošća ( 84 godine ) u pratnji kćeri ima štap, teško je pokretna i treba joj više mjesta i osobnog prostora zbog pomagala i teže koordinacije pokreta. Ovaj restoran je pretenciozan i negostoljubivog osoblja koje se " bavi "...

Nothing special. We've dismissed the restaurant on account of bad service we once had there but decided to give it a second shot cause all the people we knew found it good.

The ambient is very nice, the venue is spacious and we've had no trouble with getting a table for two despite walking in for lunch.

The food itself was tasty and the size of the portions generous. However, the daily menu consisted of mostly pasta dishes, including homemade gnnochi with a billion different sauces and they fall just short of the pricetag attached.

The dealbreaker was once again the staff, who were very helpful when taking the order and offering several paid "add-ons" but were nowhere to be seen once the meal was served - I'm not a fan of overeager waiters, but I expect to be asked if everything is to my liking at least.

In the end, the waiter took the money and the receipt, never returning with the change which I guess he assumed was the tip even though we didn't say anything, i.e. we ended up shortchanged.

We return to our original verdict - nice, but not...

Very fancy restaurant with top notch service and very tasty food.

I waited somewhere for up to 10 minutes to get the appetizer, approximately 30 to 40 minutes to get the main dish (served for 4 people) and I must admit, the food is quite tasteful and it comes in small portions, so my problem is that one would need to spend certainly more than 70€ in order to get the side dish, main dish, desert and a drink or two. Besides that, the food is very tasteful.

So trust me when I say, if you come hungry here, you better have a larger sum on your mind to spend, or otherwise it won't be enough.

If money is not a problem for you, go at it. Personally, I consider it to be a little too pricey (plenty of other restaurants in the area with the same or even better choice and taste of foods, for less a than half...
