Rating 3, but really is for less, I just don’t want to close the business down early in the event they can turn it around. 8pm dinner and only at 60% of capacity. 5 of us at the table. Also how do you have almost 800 reviews and a 4.7 when you opened this past month. Lol
Service- terrible. 5 ppl at our table and only 2 menus given. Said they didn’t have enough. Server walked away to “get more” came back in 20 min to get our order. He for sure forgot. We saw menus on other tables that guests were not using. In the meantime we asked our waiter 4 times for water, the manager 1 time, a female server, and finally the non Croatian male server who brought it in 30 seconds. Non Croatian staff always more professional. It’s kind of sad.
The menus were in English but the waiter didn’t seem to known English well, not their fault, just don’t have English menus then.
Food - small plates are not a lie. They really are small. Hummus didn’t come with any bread, good thing we got garlic bread (but didn’t have great flavor), it was like warm butter bread. What are ppl using to eat the Hummus lol.
Took 50 min from the time they took our order to get mains. 2 lemon chickens, 2 burgers, 1 fried chicken, and 1 Milanese. One of our guests ate 2 mains. How did it take so long to make the same orders.
Pricing- these prices are like I’m in downtown Chicago…. Wild.
It starts and ends with customer service. If you can, organize your staff better so they aren’t running around aimlessly. People come to restaurants hungry, so ensure they are taken care of and checked in on.

Read moreI'm a local and as such am accustomed to Croatian waiters and chefs being a little bit snobbish and rude. Here however I've felt like I've stepped into another realm. We came with no reservation, they welcomed us and took our name and said they'd have a table for us ready in about 15 minutes, if we could just come back then and if it's not ready by then, they'll give us complementary drinks. Of course after 15 min the table was free and ready and they ushered us in. The waiters and waitresses were so nice, so friendly, in such a good mood that our appetites grew bigger. The waiter that was serving us gave us suggestions on the food and we heard him give great and expert tips on food to other guests. All though we came with no reservation and definitely caused some disturbance in their schedule, they didn't rush us after we'd finished and left us talking saying there's no rush. The food was excellent as it always is in Rougemarin City and the original Rougemarin. We had burgers. The beefsteak we had was so fresh, thick, and perfectly medium. The grilled pork neck skewer was the BEST I’ve ever had: meat was super fresh, perfectly cooked, not dry not too fat. I’m out of words. The wok we had had very authentic and delicious Asian seasoning (I saw two Asian chefs in the kitchen). Service: we were very impressed by the one lady who was taking care of all the tables.
